Two types of the small screwdriver

Left: Purchased about three to five years ago.

Right: Came with the new Champion Plus.

The newer screwdriver is alightly shorter and the head design is also different.

Interesting...I wonder why they changed the original design ???

The two I have are like the one on the left.

Mine's like the one on the right. It's more of a hollow grind than the one on the left.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

There are a few small slotted screws that have very deep & narrow slots.  The new one fits them better.

On the juice model I got in trade from def it has the now one. I actually love it for my sunglasses. It has never buggered up a screw. I use only hollow ground drivers for my firearms, and I am gratefull that the Core has drivers also hollowground.

I first noticed the new style occurring about 6 months ago. Works better on my glasses :)

I have both styles, but I haven't used either. I've only had glasses for about a month now, though, so they'll likely start seeing some use.

I started seeing the new style nearly two years ago.  I've used both, and they've worked equally well for me.

Could this difference explain why some miniscrewdrivers don't fit Wenger corkscrews well?

I couldn't say for sure (haven't got a Wenger) but the plastic bit looks the same on both to me :)

I got hold of of 2 of each type and they seem to fit the same way on Wengers.
I found no real difference in this regard.
All fit nicely on the Evo 10 and all but one do not fit the Wenger Traveler I have.

Some fit different than others, but it doesn't follow the change illustrated here.  Some are tighter than others due to tolerances in the corkscrews and the plastic insert.
