Variations of Wenger Major :

On SakWiki, 2 Wenger Major are referenced :

- 1.23.03 Wenger Major (http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Wenger+Major)
- 1.23.13 Wenger (Major) with small blade instead of nail file (http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Wenger+1.23.13)

But another Major Wenger was discovered by one of my friends : this model is like 1.23.03 Wenger Major but with a Phillips Screwdriver instead of the Corkscrew...

Does anyone know this model ?

Look at the catalog pages 92-95, I think you're talking about model 1.24.03. In North America good chance it was in the backpacker series if the imported that model.

Its model number is 1.24.03 (short chain?) or 1.24.02 (key ring?). Don't have any other info on it.

Ordered mine direct from SAC (had problems with Weber and no longer deal with them). The handle logo is on the back side, and the blade has the etched logo. The number is AF.1.077.161.830.C. The box has the 150th anniversary logo.

Nice set!
Is there any date printed on the Ranger's box label?

I decided to "pull the trigger" on the Rangerwood SAC, basically because it is the only Rangerwood model with the one hand opening blade (which I love).
Bought mine here
http://www.webers-world.com/product_info.php?info=p531_RangerWood-161-SAC.html
There are basically two different versions of this knife.
The one I received is exactly as shown in the above link.
The SAC logo is on the front scale, and the balde does not have any markings.
The box is also very similar to the one shown by Martin, has the SAC logo but not the 150 years one.
So apparently there are two SAC versions: one for the 150 years, and one "standard".
Sorry if it was old news, but I just realized this today.
Will post pictures of my Rangerwood 161 soon.
Box label on mine example reads: AF.1.077.161.830.P1.CAS, date 11 2012

Here is a picture of my model

You can post and talk about SAKs all you like and we encourage that. After all that's what this forum is for. But this is a privately owned and funded forum, which costs money, and is sponsored by members and sellers who pay for the privilege to advertise here. Allowing you to advertise here for free and post links to your store/boutique or however you want to call it would be disrespectful towards the people who actually pay for this service. :salute:

Sorry, but it is neither open nor very democratic, without being disrespectful to anyone.

I note once again that Americans and Europeans are culturally very differents.

If you spent more time here you'd realise that you can post links here to pretty much anywhere. We even have a special forum to post links to good deals we find on other sites, be it eBay or some other store.

From your 12 posts so far 5 of them have been to your site and store and two were complaining why you can't post links to your store and some of them were reported as SPAM by the members. I'd call that advertising. As for the different cultures between Europe and America, well ... I'm European. ;)

So let's please get back to the topic here and discuss our love for the Wenger Swiss Army knives and if you wish to discuss this topic further please send me a PM.

Don't know what it means or stands for. Thought maybe that little droid from Star Wars ordered a custom SAK and they got his id name wrong.  :P

The knife is of the likeness of a Dynasty series knife. The main blade has etching from Davos.
More details here.

As for Dynasty Series, actually it looks exactly like Gawain from that series, but Dynasty Series has always been introdused as black colored, so I'm not sure. They had european run called "Diplomat", perhaps this is one of them.

Yeah, and it's also a great gift for a woman that likes to sew  ;) My second half was unbelievebly happy when I brought this baby to her. I was surprised myself by number of unique implements inside of it. Never thought it would be so hard to find it. They are discontinued long time ago, although sakwiki keeps silence about this.

I think it could be a little difficult to have the sakwiki updated daily with the availability of every single knife listed.
The Bernina is also still available online from many sources, at least here in Italy.
I didn't have problems buying one, some months ago.
Many Wenger knives, even if officially discontinued, are still available in large stocks.

Number of SAKs is not that huge, it's not thousands or even hundreds of models, so I think sakwiki can be easily updated in time.

Any links? ALIVE links.  I tried dozens of internet shops stating "Available", but they all were useless, because last update was somewhere in 19th century.

I think Italy is quite closer to Switzerland, am I mistaken?  ::)

Bernina is not a regular knife, it can't be as common as any wenger knife. This is "by default", i.e. 100%.

The SAKwiki currently has cca 640 pages, most of them have multiple SAK variations listed and that are only major changes with different model numbers. If we would be counting all the limited runs and different color variations too the number would be :ahhh There are still lots of models that were discussed here on the forum but still haven't been added to the wiki cause information are still being gathered about them. So yes, there are literally thousands of different SAK models and variations. And the site is maintained by members here, volunteers who do it for the love of the Swiss Army knife.
