You have to be logged in to download/access them. Log in and try again. If you still have problems, let me know.

I'll upload the pdf you attached here later. They go in a special folder that's accessible to admins only so no maleware isn't uploaded. Only the picture galleries are open to the general public.

Just a small note.
I'm organizing my collection and put for sale many duplicates I have.
There are many scarce Wenger models that could be interesting to collectors.

I've got a (post-2008, so not a rarity) Wenger Standard Issue incoming that I just bought on this forum, my '07 Vic Soldier will have a brother! The main reason I bought it is so I can carry it with a Tec P7 hanger clip, which I can't do with my Soldier, and I don't like the keyring attachments on Vic Alox SAKs, as find they dig into my hand (not such as issue on the 93mm knives, as its at an angle on them and more rounded). Will be my first Wenger!

These beauties just in - all BNIB
  • Standard Issue dated 2004
  • Esquire: Delphi Automotive Marketing Swag with slipcase in presentation box
  • Esquires: two generic with the vinyl slip cases

Date on Standard Issue tang, typical of Wenger Standard Issue tang proof marks, is weakly stamped

I'm impressed with the Standard Issue. Other than the bail in a hollow rivet and tang proof marks it's 99% identical to a 2005 and 2007 Victorinox Soldier. I'm growing fonder of the slightly larger 65mm Esquire versus the Vic 58mm Classic SD as it has larger scissors and bigger nail file, without that much size increase. I've got a couple of the Vic Delemont Executive 81 which are identical except for the Vic logo and T&T, but they've apparently been discontinued and the only one left is the Delemont EvoWood 81. I still prefer the Rambler or other Vic with the cap lifter, wire stripper and #0 Phillips combo and wish Wenger had made one like that in 65mm.

Got a fourth one - also BNIB - some time ago. Another corporate handout, that one to employees to celebrate 75th Anniversary the company's founding. It was a bonus surprise included with a larger knife purchase.

I take it you like the Esquire!

Promotions never looked that good!
The style of the logo gives the knife a vintage look. Love it!

This one also just in a day or so ago. Don't know why I was thinking it was a Victorinox. It's a 2007 Wenger Standard Issue with no bail and solid rivet. While it's not BNIB as with the 2004, it's about 95-99%, near mint condition. Needs a little polishing on the screwdriver tip of the cap lifter. It appears that's the only thing this knife was used for.

Typical lightly stamped date on the tang . . .

Hello,

It's not a standard issue !

It's a soldier knife, one of the last soldier knife made by Wenger !

At the end of 2007, Wenger has stopped production for the Swiss army due to buying of Wenger factory by Victorinox. So you will never find Wenger soldiers knives stamped "08" but you can find (more and more rarely) Wenger soldiers knives stamped "07".

See :

http://www.couteaux-du-soldat-suisse.ch/J01/index.php/en/les-couteaux-du-soldat/les-modeles-1961/variante-7

This knife is now very collectible !

If I understand this correctly, the "Standard Issue" Wenger are the 1961 model Wenger sold retail to the public (some may have the year stamped on the tang) and the "Soldier" are the 1961 model Wenger sold to the Swiss Army.

Thanks

It's a little more complicated !

In fact soldiers knives and civilian knives, of same model and same year of manufacture, have always something to distinguish them :

A civilian knife will always have something more or less if you compare it with a real soldier knife of the same year like a bail added, a blade not stamped with the year of manufacture, the Waffenkontrolle not stamped on the scales, etc...
And it's not easy to transform a civilian knife to a soldier knife : for exemple in 2007 you can find standard issue stamped "07" with eyelet and bail but... In 2007 on soldiers knives you will never find eyelet nor bail ! So do not imagine if you remove the bail a standard issue will become a soldier knife !
And there are a multitude of combinations!

Lot of people have lot of wrong or bad informations about soldiers knives, Wenger standard issue, former Victorinox pioneer, etc... But soldiers knives collectors can recognize immediately a civilian and a soldier knife...

I'm sorry for my bad English I hope you understand what I mean !

An other sample :

these knives can't be soldiers knives because soldiers knives models 1908 have carbon steel blade and tools ! Never stainless steel blade nor tools !

Sample of the Trekker :

The Trekker is the civilian version of the model 2008 : No year stamped on the blade, no military handles...
