Wait... So there are 6 Alinghi knives? I found 5 last time I searched... Never saw this one!

Just found some info that maybe they just used spare Alinghi blades to make these...

All I know about this knife: it's a Wenger Ranger 38-36 (1.92.38.36). It was produced in March 2011, bought in Wenger Outlet in Landquart, Switzerland.

Hey Guys

This knife seems pretty special....
Firstly - It has the 120mm scales.. yet you are saying it came out in 2011 - So that is a couple of years after the 130mm Rangers came out and the 120mm were retired - So this is very unusual
Secondly - As you have pointed out it has the Alinghi blade
Thirdly - It is the model 36-38 - Right ??? That's a strange model no.

So this is pretty unusual and very unique ..........  And it is not in the Wiki   :o
Any idea if it is a one or two off - Or were there a few made ? Should it be in the Wiki? - Given we have box, pics, model no etc - I am thinking ... Yes !

Do you agree? ..... If so - can I borrow the pics and make a page for it please ?    :tu:

Yes, Sir Huntsman. As you can see from the printed text (03 2011)  on the box in the picture above.

Secondly - As you have pointed out it has the Alinghi blade
Yes. There is a short review by Sir victor7000, there this fact is mentioned too.
And I suppose, it’s “remains and seconds” from the main Alinghi knives production – I have two knives, bought NIB, but both have some minor scratches on the main blade.

Thirdly - It is the model 36-38 - Right ??? That's a strange model no.
Model 38-36. And in accordance with Sir victor7000, there is another model 38-38 with an additional Phillips screwdriver.

Any idea if it is a one or two off - Or were there a few made ?
When I have bought these knives, I have seen a lot of them (dozens) on the Outlet’s shelf.
can I borrow the pics and make a page for it please ?    :tu:
Yes, please. And thank you very much!

Hello,
I have both models, so I think there were quite a few made.

Gorgeous pieces!

I used to dismiss Wengers as sub-par SAKs as a kid... In the past few years I've seen them be much more beautiful and innovative than Vics. The love keeps growing and growing... As their numbers are.
Just got two more lovers today :D

Metal. That is a bike chain tool. I have a plain one (not TDF) that I carry on my bike.

I believe its aluminum/aluminium. It may very well be an alloy but it's light.

Cool. Is the chain tool to be used in combination with the removable wrench?
I am thinking of byuing one that is in ok condition, but missing the wrench as they lost it.

Don't need the removable wrench to use the chain tool, but it is handy. It's a spoke wrench too.

Couple of recent Wenger goodies.....Business Tool and Tactile 812 with clip point main blade.  Really impressed with the engineering on the Business Tool even though I read it may have been the last nail in the Wenger coffin.  For such a complicated little bugger, everything functions incredibly smooth.
