this week I thought I would share a couple examples of the Master Sportsman, with the unusual "snow or mud scraper" tool for use on your skiis!

WARNING :  this knife is NOT a Wenger

I see it time and time again, and there is one listed now on eBay for $900...and sellers often try to pass this knife off as a vintage Wenger....but it is NOT A WENGER.  I am fortunate enough to own two of the first shield Wenger with aluminum scales that these sellers want you to think their knife is the same as (but its not)....so I bought one...just to show them side by side.  you will notice many differences, including 1)  the overall shape of the knife is different, 2) the shield is different, 3) it doesn't have the tang stamp, 4) it has JTR etched in the blade (that is in fact the name of the french manufacturer of this knife), 5) it has a cap lifter instead of a solid screwdriver like the originals

so dont be fooled by sellers like the current listing on eBay by "zippythings39"...this knife is not original Wenger and certainly not worth anywhere close to $900.  I paid a lot less than that for both of my ACTUAL Wenger examples

the proof is in the pictures

Nice knife, and unlike some special tools seems to have quite a practical tool set all around, nor is a scraper with a file a super speSmurfpillsed tool or take huge amounts of room, I could actually see that knife as an excellent option for outdoors even today.

Wenger Evo has an honored place in the collection. :D
