I would gladly carry any of the three.  Wenger or either Case.  My style knives.  I looked at the videos for the new Case knives from the SHOT show.  No.  Just no.  I'm tired of flippers and clippers.  New Case knives don't look any different than fourteen dozen others.  Best wishes.  G

Is that a Wenger Traveller? If so - Yes nice model

I really liked the Wenger awl as it was not sharp

Most blades on all SAKs are sharp - and sometimes you don't want sharp - eg untangling a knot or shoelaces etc
The Wenger awl was great for that

This is also IMHO the same reason why the much hated fish scaler is quite good

PS It is a sad day for Wenger fans - As it looks like Vic has killed off the 85mm line with their lovely scale materials and colours

I haven't seen the new knives.  I enjoy when they bring out the vault patterns.

Security/Sécurité 14 essentially a Traveller with locking blade.  That makes sense about the awl.  It really is sad for us Wenger fans.  I have a couple I regularly carry.  I am a huge fan of Wengers main blade.  Its so good.

Here is another Wenger I really enjoy.  Thought I'd miss scissors but I was wrong.  I've always like the little chain Wenger put on their SAKs.  This is also one of 2 black SAKs I own.

This Nailclip is a recent purchase, I fell for. It's new out of the box and I have been carrying it for a couple of days now. The nail clippers are ace. :o I didn't expect this to become one of the favorite daily carries, but I think it just might will. :D

I thought it appropriate to leave a photo of it here. :dunno:

Looks like a nice EDC item to me.  Very useful.  Nail clippers are handy for more than nails, too.  We don't see a lot of 'soft touch' Wengers here.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks G.

I guess we don't, right? Which is a bit odd. Those soft scales are so pleasant to hold. :dd: Perhaps not a quality everyone seeks in a SAK, but a nice thing to have in a daily carry for me personally. As, to be honest, my top usage is holding and playing around with it to keep my hands occupied. :D

That MRE badge looks good on you, Dane.  I was going to suggest that you join the MacGyver challenge, but I felt like that would be too pushy.  Everyone knows I hate pushy.  No pushy.  Then I saw you have signed on for the challenge.  I was going to say, 'It's about time', but that sounded a little pushy.  Best wishes.  Gary

Thanks, Gary. It does look a bit lonely though, the badge. ::)

Please don't feel pushy. And please do push. :hatsoff: I really appreciate the camaraderie of all the good people here. Being a new member I have much to learn, and thus really appreciate when you more experienced people reach out and suggest new exciting ways to get even more out of this place.

The MacGyver challenge has been pulling at me constantly since I first discovered it, but I wanted to be quite sure that I would be able to complete it. ::) I hope to be able to make it through. :dunno:
It is definitely the one badge out of all of them I would like to have. Such a funny challenge. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. :D

Brilliant Dane
And you’re v lucky to get a Wenger original Nail Clip

I’ve got exactly that model / version and love it

And a double Wenger innovation:
The scales
and the nail-clipper - which IMHO works fantastically and is a v innovative design
….. Yet ano reason we ‘love Wenger’ 😃

Glad to see Vic still keep that one!!

Fine, fine, fine.... I can take a hint.  I'll meander over to the MacGyver challenge and sign up.  Just gotta find where I left my paper clip......

I completely agree, Huntsman. :tu:

In my opinion, Wenger did so many things well, and the things, which perhaps did not work out to be perfect, those small mistakes in some of the models, I really appreciate as well. Because those give that exact model a history, some soul, and separate it from the rest. I really hold Wenger in high regard for their bravery of trying something new and different.

Perhaps I can personally better relate to a strange and funny Wenger? One, which functions a bit differently?  :dunno: :D

The nail clip is definitely a nice design and very well engineered tool. And as you say, Huntsman. The nail clipper itself, the opening mechanism of it, combined with the soft scales, especially in black, awesome. :tu:

My newest addition. A Ranger with big scissors. It says Ranger 14 on the package. The scissors are really great.

:like: Have you put that Wenger saw to use? I am pretty sure I only have one Wenger with a wood saw, and it's not a user (I don't want to mess up the scale art).

It's a user, and definitely very capable for such a short saw. It has very sharp teeth. I actually used it today to trim a branch on an apple tree in the garden. Worked perfectly.

I have always known Victorinox and its spanish copy, Aitorinox.

Until recently I didin't knew Wenger existed and since knowing I got myself a Rangergrip 178. A very nice outdoors knife that I got bc Victorinox is closing Wenger more and more and it was goind out of production.

Such a shame, many people praises Wenger a lot because it had many more innovations. Also, having two SAK companies (maybe there are others I don't know?) was much better than having one.
