You might want to see what Swiza has to offer as well.  Another Swiss watch company that makes interesting knives.  Some of the members here have the knives.  I hear of likes and dislikes.  Just like everything else.  Unlike Victorinox and Wenger, there are no military contracts at the root of Swiza, but they do sell high quality knife based multi tools.  Best wishes.  G

I have always known Victorinox and its spanish copy, Aitorinox.

Such a shame, many people praises Wenger a lot because it had many more innovations.
Also, having two SAK companies (maybe there are others I don't know?) was much better than having one.

They were actually pretty good in the 80s!
Back then Victorinox was expeeeeensive and Aitorinox was practically the same as a much lower price. I still have grandpa's 'Camper' with nacre scales and it even has some pros.

The small blade was pointier (characteristic of all Aitorinox still to this day)

Appart from that, no tweezers or toothpick and the woodsaw was not as good as Victorinox's.
But still pretty decent. Such a shame that the company is not nearly as good today.

Thx IMR4198. I'll check it out.

:iagree: Wenger wasn't afraid to try things that were different or specialized.

The images have enabled me to create a new page for the scissors themselves
This page is accessible via the above link.

Thanks, Huntsman. :tu: The page looks great now. And the page on the scissors is especially good.

Thanks for all the work you and other administrators and moderators do both on SAK Wiki and here on the forum. I can only speak for myself, but it is highly appreciated. :hatsoff:

Wow - Those Wengers are spectacular and I'd say pretty rare.
And I'm not sure I have ever even seen a Wenger shield inlay - à la Victorinox inlay

Looks like you spent a bit of time and effort on restoration - Well done (and not overdone) - Beautiful

Thanks Huntsman, I grew up with the 6-layer, it was my grandfathers, now I'm old enough to be a grandfather.

Very interesting....not seen one before...the scissors have a "vic style" spring .....have you been able to identify it on the wiki?

Should have probably mentioned in the initial post that the original leaf style scissor was broken. I figured a new style spring was better than none at all, therefore the modern spring.
The Wenger book mentions this scraper/file  tool, but I don't have access to my book right now. It is polished steel on one side and a fairly fine file on the other. I have never seen anything resembling it on the wiki.
Here's some crappy photos

New (to me) Wenger from our friend Dan. This is a really neat little model. I'm not sure exactly what the model name is but I really like this guy.

Fair point, Gary  — I think this may help. The cap lifter and nail file I left closed since I didn't want to open multiple tools on the same backspring.
