Is that your knife? If so glad to see they're out. Regardless, a great photo.  :tu:

Did you get yours yet, Karl? Saw them appearing in US, nothing in Canada so far  :-[

Beauties!!  I don't know why these and the Maccao are not more popular. Sterling seems to get much more of a following... even ugly ones.

More AP Snow, but a crappy picture compared to Northman's pictures.

One thing I noticed is these two Wenger came with what appears to be higher quality split-rings, and they look to be a nickle-silver alloy.  Anyone else notice a change in split-rings recently?  I hope Victorinox switches to these rings.

Do the snow scales come on other models as well?

Nice pictures from you aswell :tu:

I just looked at the split-rings in light and yes there is a difference, also on 85mm. Got no info on this yet. Interesting observation.

Nice, thanks. :tu:

Might pick up a 79 in a few months. I see one on German eBay but I'll wait till I don't have to pay customs taxes anymore. :D

The Snow looks very nice. Can you take a picture from a black Ranger and an AP blaze and an AP snow together to compare? This would be a nice shot...  ;)

Nice pictures above!
Interesting that the same Ranger model from North Man and ICFT has different camo patterns.

That's the nature of the Realtree Camo process, you'll find that with any of their camo series.  I think they have a unique pattern of 'n' size, then they make large sheets of 'm' size ('m' might equal 'n') then the sheet is cut into 'x' number of sections and each section is applied to the item.  I'm not sure of the application process, but I think it's similar to how large advertising is done these days when it envelopes something like a buss or other irregular shape.

OK here is a very quick snap; is this what you had in mind?

Wenger and Victorinox have both over the years been increasing their cross marketing of their different product lines, and both have expanded their watch lines greatly over the past few years.  So putting a watch  and Swiss Army Knife in the same box would be quite natural, and they have both been doing it.  I've been wondering what Wenger will be doing after they are no longer puting their own brand on SAKs.

Here is a recent example by Wenger; they package together one of their Terragraph model watches with an EvoWood S557 SAK.  I was surprised to find out that the EvoWood scales on this knife are a really light tan color, quite different from the normal EvoWood scales.

The box for the package is also quite nice.

Lovely picture :)

And yes it is also my observations that the patterns are different on the same series. For example the AP Blaze. So far all i have seen are different.

I must say it looks nice :tu:

On the Kon-Tiki Evowood the scales are light in color like on yours. I also wonder on this, then again the same wood may have very different colors if one can say. All i know is that it was mentioned that Wenger match up the scales, both scales should look the same.

Very Nice!  Can you tell me if your new one came with one slot for a removable tool empty?

Thanks!

[Update:]
Just to clarify; I mean one layer empty... I think I can see from the photograph that there is an empty layer on your knife.

How is it with Wenger sheaths?

I just got another of these, seems like they must have been made for many years. Could be better but nice for light duty i guess.

Really missing my S557. Wenger better fix it for making me wait this long. :twak:

Was out looking for an EKA Wenger and not finding anything tangible for purchasing. Might end up going by Kmart and checking out what they had there for SAK again. If they had something in yellow, maybe. Not sure what the fascination is with red scales. Wood is so much more natural.

Have a look at this auction
http://www.ebay.com/itm/swiss-army-knife-wenger-delemont-switzerland-/171023197445?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item27d1c6e505
The knife is a camo Highlander and is seems that the camo paint is just applied over the standard red scales.
