Some great looking stuff there!  :tu:

How did you get knives out of Japan? Every time I've tried I've been told they can't ship because of a) Japanese regulations, b) US regulations, and/or c) Victorinox regulations.

Thanks!
I honestly did not have any problems, and I'm pretty sure that japanese regulations do allow export of knives.
For shops not willing to ship internationally there is this service, which seems to be quite popular
http://http://www.tenso.com/en/
I registered there, but had no need to use it (so can't really give an opinion)

Has anyone actually dealt with Tenso?

Went to register with Tenso, and their agreement said they could share my data with anyone for any reason. Pass on that. Guess I won't be getting any knives from Japan in the near future.

With much surprise, I found the original image patterns used for the hardwoods, ap balze and snow camo models.
As you can see, the new snow pattern is exactly the same as the orange "ap blaze", with just different colors.  :D :D

Still using my AP Blaze 10 for EDC. Not easy to see on picture, however it hold just fine. Just some smoother surface. See the different pattern or different part of it.
The bottom one is the EDC one  :)

Also another on my knives, by luck i found an older Mora Carbon blade, 70s or 80s they are 3,5mm to almost 3,8mm thick at the tip..

Good combination of knives, SAKs do work so well outdoors in combination with a good fixed-blade.

My latest treasure is an 82mm 2-layer Wenger.  Whoever was in charge at the time they made this knife seems to know their stuff as it is top quality.

I found two interesting old brochures.
One is for the Lithos written in german.
The other is titled "Argyros" and is about the Sterling and Imperial models.
@ Francis: I would upload them directly to the wiki, but I can't see the option.
In fact, I am only allowed to upload pictures to the knives gallery, but not to the catalog section.
I also don't see any option to make small edits.
Anyway, here are the pictures

Yes i also feel a fixed blade and a SAK go hand in hand, actually the handle i made on the 70s or 80s Mora is inspired some from a SAK aswell. Different layers of wood is not new, however a SAK is a layer design. So it did fit my idea. Every part is glued to eachother and to the tang. I used a bolt in the back to tighten and to peen some aswell. And one can use the SAK in the making of a handle aswell if one want.
I also got some inspirations from the Argyros today, i will see if i can put on some metal on the next knife. It will be in a few months since fishing is for this summer.

That's a great find.   :tu:   :salute:

You should be able to upload them to the wenger catalog gallery just as you would to any othe open gallery.  If not I'll put them somewhere, need to reorganize that gallery a bit; maybe consolidate the single pages into a sub-gallery.  Were you trying to put them somewhere else?

What do you mean by small edits? to you mean to image names and descriptions?  That might be restricted, but you should be able to edit the pages.

if you have higher resolution images it would be great if you emailed them to me.

Francis,
I read in the Wiki FAQ that
"How do I edit pages?
You need to login to the wiki. Look for the edit icon on the top right of each page, or the "edit" button on the bottom left of each page".
My problem is that I don't see the "edit icon" or the "edit button" on the pages.
Also, is there a way to upload more than 6 images at once?
Anyway, here are the hi-res pictures, but you will need to crop them

I have a Wenger Ranger that I received as a Christmas present. I love the look and feel of the black rubberized grips. The knife blade flips open easily and smoothly, and the knife feels good in your hand. This is the knife I carry when I know I'm going to need to use a knife that day or to use the bottle opener. There are many days that I have some activity at the kids' school, so I don't use this knife for EDC, because the letter of the law is that knives aren't allowed at schools. This is large enough to attract attention from people who have a hard time distinguishing a "tool" from a "weapon."

Let me check your account status, at one point anyone who had edited a page was given edit permissions, but the default changed to no edit for security reasons. There is some info in the wiki thread, but I'll update the info on the wiki itself.   If you have never edited a page before that is likely the reason, and I'll fix you up the next time I'm on.

I processed the small pictures anD they benefit a lot so I would not upload the set of images shown here. I'll look at the larger size, but will like just email you back the processed smaller images for upload.

You should be all set for edits.  If I send them to you though then your contribution is noted better than in the image desc, not that you'll get famous or anything  :).   I can always move them around later as I often do.

As per your question about uploading more than 6 images at a time, I have not found a browser that will do a batch upload although it is implied in the wiki upload that it is possible.  It's probbaly a bad idea anyway incase there was a mistake.

Thanks, but I couldn't care less about people noting my contribution! :D
The only important thing is that the images are on the wiki
About the images uploading: how, for example, did you upload all the 1995 catalog images in a single "folder"?
What I did notice, for example, when uploading pictures of knives, is that you have to "invert" the order. Just say you want to upload 5 pictures in this order: 1-2-3-4-5; you will have to start from picture 5 to picture 1, so 5-4-3-2-1.
Sorry for the small off-topic about the wiki!

UPDATE ON THE EVOHUNTER 505

Since I wanted to investigate a little more about the markets were this knife was sold, I sent an email to Wenger.
As usual, after few hours I got an answer, written in perfect italian by the Wenger Sales Assistant.
Here is part of the email, transated by me:

"Congratulations for this rare acquisition.
In fact, of that knife were produced only 500 pieces.
Initially, the knife was produced for the Czech Republic (300 units). Then, 200 additional units were produced, which were sold in different countries: Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Hong Kong and Venezuela
."

I think that the above informations only refer to the model with the standard red scales, because I saw the same knife with the new snow camo pattern for sale in the Czech Republic (catalog 1.505.059.806).

I think the image could be.
The knife, however, is listed on the czech wenger website
http://www.wengercz.cz/
as "made for the Czech Republic "
