I also belong to a watch collectors forum but I honestly think there might be a fellow gear-head, and antique enthusiast out here that might think this bargain is cool, or a worthy project. This is a complete watch movement, dial, hands and dust cover for what was a solid gold pocket watch which was made in Liverpool England and sold by SI Tobias, a jeweler in New York right around the 1840 or earlier time frame. It is key wound but not running (although complete and in tact). The movement style is signature to the time period, and included a small chain (like a bicycle chain) fusee movement (drive train). The center jewel is a genuine mine cut diamond, and the hands are solid gold. I'm asking $150 shipped to the CONUS, money order only.
