For me this brings up the unfortunate question: If you have a Spirit do you really need a Swisstool? I'm pondering it at the moment..

In my experience, no.  I got a Swisstool X for Christmas, and I'm still carrying my Spirit.  I can't think of any reason why I would need the Swisstool X instead.  ...except for the rare occasion when I need to measure something.

I think I'm going to sell my Swisstool X.  You need one, don't you?  :D  :pok:

Nutsak-What's the difference between a standard swisstool and an X? I Like the standard swisstool config w/ 2 blades. Don't understand need for scissors. If your children need whistles maybe we can work a deal. >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

LOL.  No kids, and I don't think the dogs would appreciate them.

The difference between the standard and the X is as you stated--the X has the scissors instead of the standard's serrated blade.  The scissors on the X are better for delicate tasks than the scissors on the Spirit.  The Spirit has more of what I would call a "shear".

I must be one of the only members on here who prefers the Std over the X  :o   You see its important to me to have a second blade . Dont know why   A backup I suppose .The RS is my preferred EDC because I dont use a file that often and I like to have scissors .But I'd rather go without scissors in favour of a second blade .I've usually got a classic or a climber on me .

I like the X because it pretty much has everything and I rarely use a serrated blade.
