I found it last week at a local pawn shop about 3 miles from Gerber. I wasn't familiar with the model, but was impressed with the quality and intrigued with the mechanism. The price wasn't too rough either at $30. It has obviously been handled or stored a lot but no actual use. So at the very least, I had a nice EDC. One of the things that impressed me was the unusual amount of finish work that I was unaware of on previous Gerbers. The blade was wicked sharp with satiny luster and everything just seemed to fit perfectly with zero play. At any rate, I wanted to see what I had so I started searching when I got home and found very little except links to the previous thread here. I was thinking... why are these guys wondering when this thing is coming out when I've already found one second hand in a pawn shop??? well, long story short, it hasn't been produced and this is one that managed to squeak out one way or another. This is identical to the prototype shown in January 2011, but nothing has been seen since. Gerber has replied via facebook that we can watch for it in 2012, but nothing specific. It's pretty cool, but it has a lot going on so I can imagine they may have had some issues in production? who knows. Here is my Balance:
