I don't get along with mechanic's gloves. The new kids always come in, fresh from tech school, wearing gloves everywhere. To me it's a mark of accomplishment when your hands get hard and calloused from years of hard use. Just old school I guess...Besides, how many guys can rough sand wood with the skin of their knuckles?
Found these too late http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,33064.msg539832.html#msg539832
well the otherday i was taking off a rather stiff nut with a club hammer and spanner and slipped and club hammered my hand and caught it on a nut so i do rather like gloves now!
You soft whippersnappers! My dad was a mechanic for 40 years, and never wore gloves! Though from growing up and seeing his bloodied and gouged knuckles, maybe gloves would have helped.

My father's hands are to the point where he breaks light bulbs trying to change them and wnen the time came to hold all of his newborn grandchildren he was afraid to because he did not want to hurt them he has very little feeling in his nads after beating them up so much. when he was a young man I used to watch him pop open an unopened beer can with his right hand.I say gloves are a good thing myself...
