Great news on the extra week however if were going to all post international us in the UK we have the postal service telling us there last shipping day for the USA, Canada and Eastern Europe is 9th Dec if the item is to get there before Christmas as they can not say it will get there in time if posted after this date I only found this out today on a trip to my local post office.
So could we call it a stop at 8th Dec so that will give time for addresses to be exchanged and parcels to be packed up and posted in time just thinking ahead so no one get's upset if an item arrives late or later then expected.
Nice list coming along though plenty of Christmas spirit coming in now.

The USPS is saying the 19th for "most" international shipping to arrive from here in time. Which is about right for Europe, but for Canada they should have been posted a few weeks ago to make it by December 25th...

Hi I can tell you from my experience with trading tools with guys on here and off the LM facebook page that USPS are stretching the truth a little on there times for getting stuff to the UK, I have a buddy in Oregon and another in Maryland and both have traded with me many times and the fastest anything has made it to the UK and my home is 10 days even in the Summer months with no holidays of any kind, the average time is 14 days according to the markings on the USPS stamps on the packages.
So it may be fine going from UK to US but not so fine from US to UK partially as our postal service is not the fastest when it comes to getting international items thru the system even with tracking it is difficult to see where or what the hold ups are but they are there all the same.
Perhaps I have been unlucky each time but I doubt that even I am that unlucky lol 8)

Hey, We're all grown-ups here (ok, well that might be debatable) but in my opinion I don't think it would be too big of a deal if some of us had to wait an extra week or two for a parcel to arrive.

I'm not THAT impatient. :)

Well in the interest of both US and international people this thread will be over 12/04/11. It gives enough time to get addresses,pm, and ship. Also I will take advise and randomize the list and who ever numbers lands on that one will be the person who gets it.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

i don't mind waiting and as they say, the more the merrier. i just hope the one who'll be receiving my gift wouldn't mind waiting either since it usually takes a minimum of two weeks for mail to arrive from here to the uk or us.

Or you could go oldschool and do what we do for office secret santa... put the numbers in a hat and draw a list out, then match that to the first list.  So you would have a list of 1-30 then a list of random numbers from your drawing.  Numbers on first list send to numbers in second.  More random but then not everybody will be trading in pairs, depends on how you want it to work out.

I found some website that do it for you.  http://www.boogspace.com/secret-santa-name-picker.asp

That was the first one that turned up, probably more.

Christmas Pool

So how exactly is this going to work ?
I will use the list numbers to randomize the list. Then I will post the list along with the screenshot. Example. I am in number 2 spot now. The randomized list might produce the number 13 in my spot. Whoever is number 13 sends me what they have and whoever gets number 2 (my number) I send them mine. I think that's how it works.

Sounds good to me  :tu:
I am number 13 :D sounds good to me to :tu:
Good luck :p
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Blue And Orange Would Be Sweet.
And Or You Could Do, Say Steve Is Number 2, And Gets Number 13, So Steve And And Number 13 Exchange. I'm 15, Say I Get 26, So Me And Number 26 Would Exchange. So On And So Forth.

Or You Could Start With The First And Last Number And Pair Like This:
1 & 35
2 & 34
3 & 33
4 & 32
5 & 31
So On And So Forth.

I'm still not convinced that swapping in pairs is the best way to do it:

It doesn't need to be an even number, nor do we need to swap gifts in pairs. We could:

Randomise the order of names in the list, each person in the new order gives their gift to the person in front of them. The last person gives their gift to the person at the beginning of the list.

We can split the lists out by country quite easily this way too, if necessary.

So for example if there were 5 people in the list, you'd randomise the list so it read something like 2,5,1,4,3. Then number 2 gives to 5, 5 gives to 1, 1 to 4, 4 to 3 and 3 to 2.

But it doesn't really matter; however you want to work it will be fine :D
