Anyone seen these Wenger thingys
on: November 21, 2011, 06:29:40 PM
Did try to see if already posted but couldn't find them  so here they are http://www.thiloalexbrunner.ch/de/Works/Wenger6Knives/ and http://www.core77.com/blog/object_culture/this_just_inbox_6_new_takes_on_the_swiss_army_knife_14664.asp Seems he's the same chap that does the Wenger Titanium tools :tu:

Very nice things. Glad to see them experimenting with the concept. Not only the looks but also exploring the function.   :tu:

I seem to remember these being discussed over on the SOSAK forum.  IIIRC they're just a design exercise and aren't ever going to be produced, but who wouldn't want the Wenger Absinthe spoon? ;)

Another case of a Designer reinventing the wheel and coming up with a cube. If some tool has evolved over centuries it is probably pretty useful. Pocket knives are a case in point. If someone come up with something radically different it may look flashy but probably doesn't work nearly as well.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled at car boots ever since ;)  Though realistically old ones are quite collectable so I probably wouldn't chop it up :)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
