Dremel Saw Max
on: November 26, 2011, 04:16:39 PM
Anyone seen this? I just saw the commercial for it and I think I want one, even though I think I have it covered with an angle grinder and circular saw.

Looks like the Christmas season has officially begun!

Not seen this Dremel one :tu: until now but had always wanted one after seeing the JML add for their version the Exakt saw. Those darn vids they make showing how you can't live without one are like man I need that tool :ahhh

Yes, even though I'm not sure what it does that my circular saw or angle grinder does.  I like it, but I'm losing interest in it as time goes by.  There's got to be some special rays emitted by commercials that make me want to buy things!

That Dremel saw looks like an awesome little tool!  I like the angle of the handle better than the JML.  I also already have some investment in Dremel stuff, so it would be the better choice for me.

As for use, I can already see lots of things to do with it...  I already use my Dremel 300 with the router collar and various woodworking bits to do jack-o-lanterns with my kids at Halloween.  That saw would make a great tool for doing some of the designs that are in our 'pumpkin bibles' "Extreme Pumpkins", and "Extreme Pumpkins II".  :D  With a grinder wheel in it, it would be great for shaping Styrofoam for model building too.  I can see a lot of potential use for it!  :)

My wife, on the other hand, won't.   :(

The problem I have with these small power tool is if you need something major done, they don't do it fast enough, but if you just need to cut one or two things, it's quicker to just take out the hand saw than unpack and pack the tool and extension cord.
