OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS

I just got my Swisstool Spirit S. I knew you guys said it was better than anything else but I had no idea. I feel like all these years are wasted on "lesser" tools. The smoothness, the "click" of the blades as they lock, the ease of releasing the lock, the silky smooth movement of the pliers, the overall sheer elegance of it all. All I can say is WOW!! This polished piece of smooth precision fitted metal is "The Promised Land" of multi-tools. I have a feeling I may be selling the rest of my tools in the future to acquire more of these.

This thing makes all my other tools seem like cheap pot metal wannabe's.

It's a little heavy but it's so smooth it won't be a problem carrying it in my pocket. So umm, yeah, it's gonna be my new EDC.

Can you tell I'm excited?

I could see where this might be a problem. With my LM kick I would just abuse it without even thinking. Just as recently as New Years Eve I used it as a makeshift hammer. It may be a while before I use this that way. But eventually I will. I bought it to be an EDC, not a safe queen.

Yeah you do. Like I said, "The Promised Land" of multi-tools. And no, I'm not exaggerating. this thing feels more precise than my SAK's if that is possible. I am in awe of the quality of this thing.

Well I've had it for one day, I didn't sleep with it but with the bad weather and all in the area but I did have it on my little table right next to the bed. When I woke up this morning I grabbed it and put it in the pockets of my "seepy time" pants before my feet hit the ground.

Did I mention I LOVE this new tool? I'll take some pics of it here in a bit.

OK, here's a pic of the engraving. Those are dates that are important to me(that means I HAVE to remember them

). 3/12 is my son's birthday, 7/2 is my wife's birthday and 10/26 is our anniversary. I figured that this knife was gonna be my new EDC so I kinda wanted it to be special. I am impressed with the engraving. It's nice looking and very legible without being too much.

Other than that it's a typical Vic Spirit S.

I wonder if stores aren't interested in carrying Vic products (aside from the odd Sportsman or Camper model), or is Vic not really interested in having their multitools alongside Leatherman and Gerber? Maybe Leatherman and Gerber have a contract saying "If you decide to carry any other multitool, we'll pull out of your stores." And if so, the most definately don't want the Spirit next to the Blast on the rack

I often engrave SAKs and other knives I give as gifts, especially to the guys I know who trade anything that isn't nailed down. It really kills the resale value for them so they keep 'em!
