Kershaw Select Fire at Walmart for $10.
on: November 27, 2011, 11:32:20 PM
Just went to my local Wally World and they have the Kershaw Select Fire on sale for $10. It was not displayed as even being there the lady that helped me with another Kershaw pulls it out and says I have one of these for $10 if your interested. Just figured I would give a heads up to anyone heading to Walmart.

This was posted in Deals & Auctions last week I think.  I'm proud to say I have a blue one on the way to me thanks to a helpful member!  :D

I didn't realize this was a Gavin Hawk design until he posted something about it on Facebook last week.

I've played with it a few times at SHOT but I never got around to getting one.  It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against other "tool knives" like the Crater and Expanse series from Leatherman, and maybe a few SAKs.  For $10 though, I'm not expecting too much, but the samples I've seen were good.

I remember seeing something about the Select Fire but did not know it was posted as a deal at Walmart. Well if anyone doesn't know they do now.  :D

I got one last week.Haven't used it but I played with it and so far I really like it. Definitely worth $10.00 and the long reach driver will come in handy.

I went to WallyWorld specifically to bring home a Select Fire, but came home with the Crown instead.  My local store only had the Select Fire with a combo edge blade which is a deal killer for me.

I got both the crown and select fire. I don't like combo edges either but oh well it was super cool so just had to get one, and at $10 I couldn't say no...... :D

My Select Fire is in and I have to say I really like it.  I'll give some more in depth thoughts later on, but for now I'd say you'd be very hard pressed to beat this knife for the price.

I don't think it qualifies as a true multitool though since it doesn't have a bottle opener.... :P

Grant, I thought the cutout where the driver holder fits into the scales was shaped in such a way so as to be a bottle opener.  I don't have one to try, but it's shaped well enough.

Damn, I was just at Wallyworld today and didn't even go into the sporting goods section. I think I'll have to head on over during the weekend and take a look.

I noticed that after I said it.  I'll be grabbing a beer momentarily for testing purposes only....  :ahhh

It works really well as a bottle opener.  I wasn't expecting much, but it's a lot better than most bottle openers I've used.

Using the bottle opener doesn't gouge up the GFN? Bonus! I picked one of these up last night- for ten bucks, even if I don't like it for the normal rotation, I'll throw it in my range box with a rack of bits.

I ended up at a wallymart unplanned today. Took me forever to track it down and did so after the clerk gave up. They just had a blue/combo and yes it was just $10 which is beyond a great deal. Will review later

I work at Wal-Mart a couple of times a month. I found a rack full of Select Fires. I picked up a black one. For $10.00, I couldn't pass it up. I really like the long bit driver I'm probably going to throw in in my range bag.

Looks like a visit to Wally-world is due after payday.

Do they have the plain-edge version available? I'd prefer that over the combo.

No plain edge available and also my walmart is almost out. I was just there like 20 mins ago.

I bought two for my wife's brothers in law.   I was tempted to pick one up for myself, but the CE blade stopped me again.

it would be no good to me in the uk, as the blade isnt legal. but it does look like a great knife/tool, and at a great price too.
