Restoring some old SAK blades
on: December 06, 2011, 05:09:10 PM
I got in some used knives that I'm using for mods and have them ripped apart.  I used fine sandpaper to get out the little scratches, but they don't shine like new yet.   I assume I need to buff them and use some kind of stainless steel buffing compound now?  Any tips appreciated.

I would suggest using a powertool, with a polishing/buffing attachement and some polishing paste. You could polish them by hand too, but it will take a loooong time to get an original looking shine.

I use a bench grinder on slow spied with jewelers rouge.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
