Did this one last night on my Mel Pardue Benchmade. I ran the white up the middle and the red/ blue on the outside. The red has glow in the dark in it. I thought this would be fitting for the Veteran's Day holiday today in the United States.

Tried stretching it out, keeping tension, even added some shoe goo to the ends. A week later there's almost a full turn of gap appeared.

Like to keep a loop up top for use with hands, with or without gloves. And keep my hand from slipping off on bad ground. Am in no way shape or form adept in weaving.

Guess I might try putting a weight on it, then using a large piece of metal to tamp it against the next line and try again. it is not a big deal but I can feel the looseness in the grip - can twist it both ways.

That cross bead would look great on the loop bottom too.

Temped to see where to get a lanyard made for my

Might make it easier to hang onto with a 3 inch tail.

You should wait for Stormdrane to come by; if anyone, he should have a good idea or two. Off the top of my head, if you intend on using a simple wrap around your stick, then look into adding some binding knot (e.g., prussian, constrictor, etc.) to start and end the weave. IMO the best would be to use an actual weave for the wrap; for example, something like this should work, if you can spare the time:
