As you can see in the pic someone wanted to check it out, it ain’t a ziplock so he ain’t getting into that! Well unless he really chews into it!

The Mrs has been carrying a ziplock bag full of little treats for the dog for when we go on a walk for when he goes, only thing is that bag has seen the end! So I looked around for something a little bit more heavy duty and found a newer Snapple  bottle, now made of plastic rather then the old school glass ones, made a few loops and tied a few knots, then to overkill it ran three mini zip ties so that bad boy ain’t coming off! Put a cheap carabiner on so it can clip to a belt loop and there you go, about 18” of paracord turned into a dog treat carrier!

We went on a little walk down to the school to meet the kid when he got out, must say it did it’s job, didn’t come undone, bounced around a little but it’s still attached!

Great usage!  :like:

When we got the dog we didn’t have a leash so I had to come up with something ASAP, and well, hey it worked!

Got some dedicated ‘Permalok’ needles for getting into some tighter weaving. The shorter needle should be good for 4-strand 275lb cord and the longer needle for traditional 550.

Simply twist the end tightly onto the threaded end to secure it and get weaving!

Not sure yet what project to try these out on. Thinking of a pouch that could hold a SAK similar to some of the projects people do for tins and lighters. We’ll see.

Cobra bracelet with a loop and crown knot as a base (around the edge) and then woven to close the sides together. Makes a good protective case for a SwissChamp and I can clip on a lanyard below the crown knot for carry. Was fun to make, definitely needed the permalok needle to link up the sides.

Thanks MP, WS, Mike  :hatsoff:

I figure there’s not much you can’t do with paracord with enough of it, and lots of time.  :salute:

I notice a slight "dirty laundry" smell from this stuff sitting in my backpack, an unused batch of it, then I noticed some neck lanyards that were unused in plano boxes also getting funky, any way to avoid this?

Although paracord is mildew and mold resistant, it's still possible for them to grow within the cord under the right conditions of just enough damp/moisture/humidity and being in the dark.  Maybe a soak in clean soapy water and air dried in the sun might freshen the cord up without shrinking it or making it wrinkly.  Dunno, could be something else causing the issue.

I've left some paracord (new and unused hanks) stored in ziplock bags for years in glove boxes/toolboxes/trunks/bugoutbags/backpacks and think they may only have had a faint chemical smell, not a foul stink, when I needed to use it, just probably the nylon itself or the dyes used with them.  Perhaps sealing the cord for storage with one of those vacuum bag setups might help in keeping things long term clean/dry and non-musty...

thanks Stormdrane, now that you mention it I have a length of the same batch on my desk and no odor, so I'm guessing it's the confines of the backpack and storage box contributing to the odor.

Those make great keychains and awlso double as a self-defense tool, if need be.

trying to put a short diamond knot lanyard on my ladybug, but it's not looking very symmetrical, and its camo cord so it's very confusing, glad this stuff is so cheap so I can try till I get it right.

Thanks, Wspeed and Ray.

There is about 120 feet of paracord total in the leash.  The total length of the leash is 9 ft.  I design it so it can be used as a 9ft leash with a standard hand loop or as a hands free leash that goes cross body.  As a hands free leash it is just under 5ft but also has a ring so in tighter situations it can easily be reduced to 3ft and still be hands free.  Because of the snap hook on each end in a crunch it can be used as a short tie out or I also used as a double leash when a dog got loose and I walked her home with my dog.
