I'm back.! 

Firstly an apology for not posting here, or indeed many of the other popular lanyards sites. 

But circumstances were such that family (2 kids growing up fast) and work (trying to keep it) needed more of my attention than lanyards....

Anyway since summer is here and there has been such an explosion in the choice of colours, I feel suitable inspired to made and post some of my work.

Another activity will be to update my (well out of date blogs) that also need some T.L.C.

MTlitton, if you need any info on how I make stuff just drop me a PM, ok.

This was a project I started on two or three years back, wasn't happy with it so it got shelved, and finally revisited it for another go.  I've got about 40 feet of paracord wrapped, zigzag style like you'll sometimes find on store bought spooled cordage, onto a free spinning spool attached to a carabiner(Omega locking D tubular cross section shape). 

I left just enough room on the biner, after wrapping the PVC spool, for the gate to open and fit onto nylon webbing/PALS/MOLLE attachment points.  Makes for fast deployment when needed.

Although I had imagined making an all metal/titanium setup with a seamless spool spinning on sealed bearings, I'm not a machinist and have no shop, so I've stuck with scrounged materials that most folks can get a hold of to make their own.  It's a simple project with a carabiner, appropriately sized piece of PVC pipe for a spool, cut and halved with a hacksaw to fit over the biner, gaffer/duct tape to resecure it, then add the paracord...

*For those that keep track of their EDC gear's weight, the carabiner/spool with 40 ft of paracord comes in at 5.5 ounces.  I used my 20 year old Omega locking D carabiner, but similar sized ones made nowadays may be slightly lighter...

Some more leashes with a different kind of handle.  Can someone please tell me what kind of turk's heads I managed to create?  Try as I might, I still don't understand leads and bights and all that stuff but I know I can do these.    I'm embarrassed to admit that, but it's true.

I found some old spools of Wellington Sportsman's Cord in the closet and used an empty one with another carabiner.  I managed to get 40 feet of paracord on it with the side-to-side spooling method.  I bought those spools at Walmart several years ago, so I don't know if they still carry them or not...

This was my first attempt at a bracelet with a buckle. I'm happy with how it came out!

Very nice.I also make a sell paracord bracelets.I  use the buckles but to make them easier to sell I devised an adjustable bracelet.For adults I usually make the weave about seven inches with a "tail" of about one to one and a halve inches long.Sliding the bead gives you the perfect fit.Once I get a good fit I can superglue the bead in place and cut off the excess tail or leave it as is.My paracord tip of the day.[/img]

I second that, that's a great idea. I only make them for my personal enjoyment and for friends and family.

That's the way I started Jake but the word spread and I started getting request from people I didn't know and they wanted a bunch of different colors.I usually sell them to a local store and they resell them.I support my toy habit with the profits.

That's awesome! If I had the time to make enough of them, I would probably take them down to a swapmeet or farmer's market and try to sell them. I'm not getting any requests from strangers at the moment. Plus, my knot knowledge is still in its infant stage.
