That's an odd looking clasp...is the ring part spring loaded...where you pull it to pull back a pin so the clasp can open?

That's called a snap shackle.  They're typically used in boating/sailing and it certainly looks good and functional as deano has applied it with paracord for lanyard duty.   :D  Wikipedia info.

Hi

Yep, Dave's right-on with that.  Its a lovely shackle (not the cheapest on the planet) but very sturdy.

One mod I did do was upgrade the split pin that initialy came with the shackle to a size that I could use just with one hand.

Here are a few more pixs:

Here's a simple lanyard with a doubled lanyard knot, short loop on one end, long loop on the other, with the ends hidden in the knot.  There's an online tutorial for it on the KHWW website posted by Bud Brewer.

It's not the Fin, it's the original model that I bought a year and a half ago.

My younger stepson is having a end of school party coming up with a few of his friends and I made them some paracord bracelets.

Do you know of a tutorial link on how to do it Prime?

I have made several zipper pulls but I have not tried making that kind of weave.

Everything I have learned to make out of paracord I learned from Stormdrane's Blog
http://stormdrane.blogspot.com/
His blog is very helpful and he has links to tons of sites and how to make things.
Here is a link to one of Stormdranes how to make bracelets.
http://www.instructables.com/id/Paracord-bracelet-with-a-side-release-buckle/
My stepson thinks it's cool how you attach the bracelet together. I drilled a hole in a penny.

Where abouts do people in the UK get their paracord from?  I've only ever seen 50ft bundles in green packaged by Gelert in the UK and its horrible stuff, every pack is full of frayed parts and i want more colors  :D
