Wow- that looks a little dangerous if you try to use the bottle opener!

Ummm... not to be a downer or anything, but $60 for 420 steel with a plastic slip case?  CNC'd as well?

That's insane pricing.

I agree, kinda silly design, quote from Atwood site "Since the Bookie is shaving sharp be VERY CAREFUL if you want to use the bottle opener!! I would leave it in the plastic slip sleeve or in the spine of the book if you want to open a beer. Or consider it a design feature and use it as a knife only. ;)"
Sorry to say, I think he should have left the bottle opener out of the design

Or put it on the "top" side of the handle so you lift against the spine of the blade when opening a bottle.

that's a good idea.
I think you can never be too careful, I mean realistically if you are having a few beers, you get progressively more cavalier and less coordinated with each beer you open. and you end up getting cut.

Thats a keychain tool? Omg I'd lose a finger if that was on my keys.  I hope the guard is heavy duty and secure!

Not a keychain tool. More like a desktool (or possibly a very thin sheath tool).  If one ignores the bottle opener, it is a extremely handy sized blade.  I'll see if I can get some picture of it today.  :tu:

I have wanted an Atwood forever.  But the speculators have ruined it. I assume Peter has jacked the prices due to demand.(which is understandable)  But it sucks to not see any in quite some time at a price point I could actually afford (or not feel guilty about spending)   Blades are especially expensive .    While I understand the complaints on knock offs, I for one unfortunately see little choice, unless I can snag an older , or used keyton, or prybaby, or my dream the SOPT.(which is probably always been out of my price range)

While the value of carrying both a knife and an Atwood Prybaby as edc is plainly obvious to me, I can not get my head around the bladed Atwood tools and the hype surrounding them. Jack of all trades, master of none. And, above all, an accident waiting to happen. Kydex sheath or not.

Ya that design just looks not great to me.   If I was going to buy a gimmicky kind of knife, I think it would be the one that folds up into a credit card.

Alright, someone's going to have explain the appeal to me, 'cause I just don't get it.  It ain't custom, it ain't well designed, it ain't that useful, and it ain't good materials.

I know Peter's got a following, but this is just baffling.  At least his other stuff is functional.

My wife has one.  Bought it for $4 at a flea market used.  Definitely functional, very thin blade but not at all comfortable.
