on: December 11, 2011, 11:20:15 PM
xmas day offers an array of tasks to take on, cutting rapping paper, cutting off labels, cutting clam shell packaging, opening battery compartments....etc

so the question is, what tool are to going to give the honour of xmas day to?

i fink ill let me victorinox tinker take on the days tasks. at least untill i unbox a new toy tool.

Probably my SwissTool Spirit X, unless I want to go old school with a PST or PST II.  Will definitely supplement with either a dedicated folder or a SAK, aside from what's on my keyring (Fenix E01 and alox Classic SD).

It'll be a combo, a Mastercraft scissor MT and a sturdy Sanrenmu 763 G10 Axis Lock knife.

I'll probably go with my Wright's Senator (I find wharncliffe/lambsfoot blades very useful on most packaging) and a Deluxe Tinker in case there's any fiddling & faffing needs doing  :)

I really, really, want to use my, user, LM Flair not only for opening parcels but for eating too, though I think I may look a bit weird doing that... Unless I have a few drinks and do not care about how I behave.

I'm thinking Juice as well, a Sc2 I think.  Might go with a Vic Clipper to compliment it as well.

I will be carrying my old faithful Explorer, I will be needing to open battery compartments on toys and I really like the end screwdriver. Will probably have my handy little squirt p4 on standby just in case I need some little pliers or wire cutters (for those really annoying wire straps that most toys are held into packaging with)!

Happy Xmas to all...

ATB, Jon.

Kitchen shears. Why dull my Swisstool Spirit on clam-shell packages?  That's like using Excalibur as a letter opener. :D

But last year on xmas I used mt MY to fix a wobbly chair.

Probably a Vic midnight manager, no need to go Rambo in front of the inlaws.

There will be a Spirit close to hand for any heavy duties though  ;)

I'll probably use the Flash II for any heavy clam shell packaging, and my Pioneer for everything else.

I can't decide between the octane or the wingman for the clamshell openers and my lady should have her tti handy for those tiny screws.

Just finished doing my present wrapping, aided and abetted by my 84mm Golfer.Could see it seeing more duties on the day, unless things go badly wrong in the kitchen,in which case I may regret not getting a Tactical Tomahawk!

I've recently acquired an 84mm golfer myself thanks to tatoosteve's assistance, and I think I might be leaving my originally intended combo in the drawer on Sunday. In fact I think I might just put my micro tool tin in my pocket too. I reckon the pruner blade on the pioneer harvester would be a fine choice against the evil that is clam packs

This will likely be the tool of choice through the holidays.
