Sorry to hear that, get well soon.

Oh not considered tendinitis, any idea what would cause that?

overuse of the given joint before it is ready to handle such a load. when it comes to KBs cleans can impact your wrist and elbow, snatches can impact your wrist, presses can impact your wrist and elbow. and any squatting movement can impact your knees.

just take it easy and don't compromise on form. general rule of thumb I heard a while ago was that if the KB smacks you then your form can use some work.
if you do get tendinitis try to use the joint a bit less, you can always wrap it with something as simple as an ace bandage type of thing, just don't over tighten it especially on the knees. they are easy to come by, don't cost a lot unlike acrual lifting wraps and sleeves. basically it is just a bit of extra warmth for the joint
https://www.acebrand.com/3M/en_US/ace-brand/products/~/ACE-Brand-Elastic-Bandages/?N=4304+3294605848&rt=rud

another big thing that helps is your run of the mill arthritis creams. a lot of people here like Deep heat, some go for capsaicin creams and Polar ice, but I personally prefer horse balms (Pferdebalsam) as they can be used for sore muscles as well)

that's great. kettlebells are really fun and can give some amazing challenge style workouts. I remember the 10000 swing challenge very fondly. which reminds me, if you are doing really high volume stuff then it might be a good idea to read up on how to prevent blisters and similar issues. I'd say lifting chalk but not sure if that is the best thing for kettlebells and if you're working out in your living room then liquid chalk is a much better option

No high volume workouts yet. Just general fitness.

I have to wear mits. I struggle due to sweaty hands. Tried liquid chalk and after ten minutes it was wet paste. Even in yoga my paws sweat enough to make my hands slip on the non slip matt.

Here's an example. Yesterdays workout:

Warm up (10 mins cardio)

 1 Clean and press right
 2 Clean and press left
3 Reverse lunge right (Kettlebell in rack position)
 4 Reverse lunge left
 5 Deadlift
6 Goblet squat with bicep curl at bottom of squat.
7 Push ups (narrow hand position for triceps)
 8 Two hand swing

Each exercise performed for 30 seconds with 10 seconds rest after each.
1 minute rest between sets.
 4 sets.

(Note:Times and number of sets can be adjusted both ways depending on fitness level).

looks good to me

as far as sweating and chalk goes, I had to reapply it after every set

So todays workout:

10 minutes cardio warm up.

Kettlebell workout:

 1 One arm swing right
 2 One arm swing left
3 Reverse lunge right (KB in rack position)
4 Reverse lunge left  (KB in rack position)
 5 Standard row left
 6 Standard row right
7 Squat (KB in rack position right)
8 Squat (KB in rack position left)

Each exercise performed for 35 seconds with 8 seconds rest after each.
Then 1 minute rest between sets.
 I performed 3 sets.

I'm going to ache tomorrow!

(Times and number of sets can be adjusted both ways depending on fitness level).

:ahhh  it's odd how that works "DOMS"  sometimes it's only as I start doing something else I find the muscles that ache. For example, spin class. The first out the saddle climb, and my legs go "hey! What ya doing! Still recovering from the other nights workout!"

So kinda workout related.

I started yoga last summer. I have been going twice a week, one hour sessions. Sometimes do 20 or 40 minute session at home following a app based lesson. Trust me when I say this, for a nearly 50 year old guy its been a real challenge at times!

The last few weeks we've had a theme of "knowing your spine" so learning lots of back bends and spinal twists. Last night I successfully went into full wheel pose! (also known as bridge). If I had been told 8 months ago when I started yoga that I would be doing this I would never have believed it.

Really should have got a photo as I don't think my kids believed me.

Did a HIIT workout today. 3 rounds with weighted vest (20 pounds) and increasing repetitions. No breaks between rounds:

Round 1
Pushups                10
Squats                  10
Sideplank (left)      30 sec.
Pushups                10
Squats                  10
Sideplank (right)    30 sec.
Tornado Twist (10 pounds)     2x15
Wood Chops (10 pounds)      2x10
Plank                     60 sec.
Burpees                 10

Round 2
Pushups                12
Squats                  12
Sideplank (left)      30 sec.
Pushups                12
Squats                  12
Sideplank (right)    30 sec.
Tornado Twist (10 pounds)     2x15
Wood Chops (10 pounds)      2x10
Plank                     60 sec.
Burpees                 12

Round 3
Pushups                15
Squats                  15
Sideplank (left)      30 sec.
Pushups                15
Squats                  15
Sideplank (right)    30 sec.
Tornado Twist (10 pounds)     2x15
Wood Chops (10 pounds)      2x10
Plank                     60 sec.
Burpees                 15

Doesn't look like much, but that weighted vest adds some good resistance  :tu:

Squat:

Tornado twist is like a Russian Twist from a standing position, holding a weight with your arms extended and turning your core to the left/right and back to center in a fast, but controlled, motion.

Wood Chop:

Me either, but the ones I can do help keep things working.  A few years ago I did a year long body weight squat challenge, 100 a day for minimum 5 days a week. I wound up doing over 24k squats that year.  It really is the king of exercises!
