gaffa tape alox SAK sheath
on: December 18, 2011, 10:43:44 PM
awhile back i got a alox electrician for work but recently noticed i haven't been carrying it because it just knocked about in my pocket with my zippo and caused scratches on both items. because of this i wanted a sheath to keep it safe.

(my apologies for the pic quality)

with limited funds i decided to do a make shifty sheath to do till the funds turn up. seeing as i work somewhere where i can get as much gaffa tape as i need, and ive seen people make all sorts out of that stuff i decided to give it a go.

all i did was lay down some gaffa tape so it overlapped itself and then folded it over to create a sheet.

then i poped my SAK inside and hole punched round it. after that i just wove some thin cord through and tied some knots in the cord.

its not that exciting but it does the job for now. its green tape because green was the strongest stuff. but if i get the chance ill wipe up a black one.

anyone else done some shoddy made-shift sheaths or anything similar?

I made some out of 2" nylon webbing for Tatoosteve. Hes using it for his black pioneer. Rare bird.

Thats a cool sheath mate.  I think green works well!

What's the sheath's retention like? does the SAK slip in and out easy or does it hold on tight?
