Hope it's OK to ressurect this thread but I gave this a twirl, pun intended, and it worked.
I used my crunch to do it to a pst which had a slight but perceptible wobble on.
20 degrees counter clockwise was enough to bind the plier, 10 degrees was just so and has the wire snips cutting paper like our Tim demonstrates post nail cutting extravaganza on his charge.
You can see the brushed lines show the rotation and yes I did mar the pliers, the crunch wouldn't turn it unless it got a bite on it.
Previously I used the ball pien method but this is better imo. Deffo worth doing.

Thanks Poncho and Adam, yea I have ocd issues with plier slop and if the wire cutter doesn't cut paper I usually pull out the hammer, but this is far better.
I don't mind the bite mark on this tool, it's a hard user but will investigate using copper washers something?
