I bought a MUT yesterday at Cabela's.  Yeah, I know, I know, I paid too much, but I wanted it right away.  So far, I really like the military style case, and the tool is fantastic.

I got the SS one, the EOD model was not available in the store I went to.  I do not think I could have made any use of the EOD features anyway.  So in the end, I am happy, this tool will fit in well with my Leatherman collection going back to my original PST.

I'm pretty sure the MUT was my last Leatherman purchase.  It goes something like this...

It's a real powerhouse, IMHO.

Yeah... It has it's appeal. Especially in combination with a more traditional tool with all the little bells and whistles. Have you used the hammer? That's something i never thought would actually work that well or be used. But i love it and it is.

I have already posted in this thread that the MUT was my lastest Leatherman, but things often change, and this is one of them.  I just got off of that auction site where I purchased a new Wave and a new Micra!  It says they will get here between 2/16 and 2/19.  I'm pretty stoked about the Wave because I have heard so much about it.
In all of my involvement here at Multitool.org, I have learned that one can never own too many MT's.  My goal is to knock out all of the Leathermans I can get my hands on, and then I think I will concentrate on Victorinox.
By the way, could someone please explain this to me - Are Swiss Army and Victorinox two different companies, or is Swiss Army a generic term, or does Victorinox make all Swiss Army knives and MT's.  Thanks!

So if you have $8000 and 5 years (and the luck to be able to find them) you might get a partial collection.
I will have to loosen the bounderies of my collection and see where it takes me.  I'll draw the line when they become little specialized dremel tools!

Hammer, the same company that makes Victorinox Multitools also makes Swiss Army Knives. I don't know why something is called different, but i'm sure you can find it on this website or on the internet.

I'm not an expert but my understanding is that there are 2 companies that have both made products under contract with the Swiss Army, Wenger and Victorinox, so they both claim that they sell "official swiss army knives".

Victorinox and Wenger are both Swiss based knife makers, though IIRC Vic was founded first.  Vic bought out Wenger back in 05 or so and both brands are owned by Vic and produced under their respective names.

Vic has always claimed the "Original" SAK while Wenger advertised as the "Genuine" SAK.

Victorinox currently has the only Swiss Army contract to make their Soldier model based on the One Handed Trekker.

:salute:
Just out of curiosity, Wenger "speaks" french while Victorinox does german.

I recieved my Charge this week, so another family member to welcome. Made a couple of pics, the collection is still small to what some of you guys on here have. I Have ordered a squirt ES and a surge, so hope that will be here next week or so.

For the tools I have now; the style is on my keyring, the charge I have in my car, the skeletool is in my civilian clothes and the MUT is on my dutybelt, use it a lot.

When the OHT will come out I think it's gonna replace the MUT, but only when the OHT had the Bob (J-sews) mod on them  :D

This could be a never ending thread as far as I'm concerned.  I just went on ebay and bought a Juice C2 and a Blast.  Next week it will probably be 2 more of the Juices, say, the Juice Cs4 and the Juice S2.  The following week would be the Juice Xe6, which would finish up the Pocket Size category for me.  I already have the 6 tools that make up the Keychain category, so looking at the Heavy Duty category, I have the MUT, Super Tool 300, and the Surge, so if I get the Crunch, that would finish the Heavy Duties off.  That leaves the Full-Size Tools.  I'll have the Blast, the Charge Tti, and the Wave, leaving me lacking the Charge AL, the Charge ALX, the Rebar, the sidekick, and the Wingman.  So that's 9 more MultiTools before I have the current run of Leatherman MultiTools.
