Just browsing through Heinnie Haynes site and I saw they were selling the AAA Mini Maglite LED for not to much money so I decide to go for one.  Now I know that it's not the latest and greatest light out there but as my first ever quality torch was a AAA Mini Maglite I felt I had to own the LED version as well. :)

£12.95 for a LEDed Mini Mag looks like a decent price. :tu: I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you have played with it a bit.

Me too. I think it's nostalgia mostly, but I do like Maglites :D

The price seems to be around £10 less that it sells for most other places, yet that doesn't seem to be a sale price at HH.  Given that HH have the old incan version up for just £1 less (£11.95), I suspect someone has made a bo-bo?  Not that I'm complaining mind you. ;)

Arrgh!  They sent me a LED Solitaire by mistake. :(  As I didn't really want the Solitaire right now I've sent it back and HH are going to try again.  Very helpful and apologetic chap on the phone, but it's still a little frustrating.

I assume it was in a clamshell so you didn't even get to play with it. Or am I wrong? ;)

No, sadly you are right and it was still sealed up tight. :(  I would have loved to have had a chance to play with the Solitaire but I didn't want to scupper my chances of getting the torch I had actually paid for.

And the saga, I suspect, continues.  Just read a very polite email from HH saying that they have received my returned maglite and dispatched a different one.  The issue is that they seem to think I've returned a AAA Mini Maglite LED (I didn't, I returned a Solitaire LED) and seem to be saying that they've now sent me a conventional AAA Mini Maglite. :ahhh

I suppose I shouldn't say I'm not a fan, as I've never handled one, though I doubt I'll ever buy one.  With so many good flashlights available for say $60 or less, I just can't really justify spending $100+ ($100+++ for some models) on a flashlight.  Also, I'm not a fan of the (expensive and sometimes difficult to find) 123A batteries.  I much prefer lights that run on cheap and easy-to-find AA or AAA batteries.

That 100% makes sence ..........as my friend talked me into the sf e2d led which I love cause most fit in a standard scope mount and is currently on my moss 500a's forend but I use sf brand batteries cause my friend used off brand and they exploed.........and their expencive, dont last long and most of the time I gotta get them off line.

OK, third time's a charm as they say, or I hope it is at least.  HH had indeed sent out a incan AAA mini maglite rather than the LED version I wanted, so that's also been sent back and I'm told the correct light is on it's way to me now.  Lets see what I get this time........ :D

well as soon as they stop trying to send me a Solitaire I'll post some pics of a AAA mini maglite LED, how about that?  Yes, that's right, they send out another Solitaire (perhaps the same one?) again.  I have worked out what's going wrong though, the label on the back of the Solitaire does indeed claim that it is a AAA mini maglite LED.  It's wrong, but that's what it claims.  So once again the Solitaire headed back to sunny Wales and I'm going to see what's waiting for me when I get home. :D

My Klarus Mi X6. I've had it for 3-4 months now so it's showing a tiny bit of use. Need to give it a clean so it's nice and shiny again!

Very cool looking Sunwayman, that D40A. :tu: Did you have a chance to try it out yet? Did you need it for work or just wanted a portable sun.

Very affordable too. :tu:

Been playing with it a bit. I love the UI, far better than the Nitecore EA4. The quality of the Sunwayman lights exceeds nitecore as far as I'm concerned, great lights.

No not needed for work, I just like lights.
