 :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh  I shouldn't, I shouldn't, I mustn't. I mean. They're so cheap and tempting and nice-looking.

BUT

They're so useless, dim and battery-eating.

BUT

I've been... nostalgic to the feeling those incandescent lights gave me when I was a kid and for some reason want one such now...I loved flashlights as a kid so much, but couldn't have any. Now I want them all.

Nice one, Eric. :tu: Are you running it on primaries, eneloops or li-ions? Any changes in output with change of batteries?

I use lithium primaries right now, but it will run on eneloops, alkaline, or NiMH with the 1xAA LE if needed.  If I want to run 14500s I need to use a standard 3S LE. I have a custom DatiLED LE if I choose that path.  If I see an output difference, I'll let you know.  The lithium primaries last a long time.:)

Good to see you again.  I have been fairly busy lately, but will make it a point to get on here more.

Maratac AA copper.  Waiting patiently for me on the doormat after a long day at work.  I think I like it!  With so many black anodised torches on the market, this one has a bit more character.  The twisty action is nice and smooth so it's a piece of cake to operate it one handed.  At first glance, the pocket clip looks thin, but it feels quite strong and springy.  Time will tell.

I've popped an Eneloop in to check it out.  It has two useful brightness modes, dim then bright, which is the order I prefer.  The beam is very even, probably due to the orange peel style reflector.  It produces a fairly warm light with a pretty wide spread that seems a bit more flood-like compared to my Streamlight Microstream and Fenix LD01.  It really lights up a room, but still has a good bright hot spot.

Not at all Gareth.  Dr Gonzo mentioned the source in another thread.   I got it from Miles Stair at End Times Report.  He sells loads of other cool stuff in the survival shop.  The package arrived from the USA 7 days after ordering.

Yes, Miles ships fast and reasonably priced worldwide. I first saw his site in Jie's sig line and it cost me a bit since then. ;)

He's clearing stock on Maratac stuff and I don't believe he'll be ordering anymore if  I remember correctly.

Miles is a great guy to deal with :tu: from what I've heard County Comm will not supply him with Maratac goods or any other goods from their site, it's not just him either they won't supply anyone ::)
County Comm have some great stuff but don't ship to the UK, there is another shipping service who will do it for you but I imagine it adds a fair bit more to the total cost of postage

I have a Maratac copper CR123 and it's a lovely piece of kit...I'd love an AA version but I'm pish poor at the mo :-[
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I got this pretty light the other day.  I wanted a SS light and I finally pulled the trigger on this.  I like it so far and the hand feel of SS is very nice.  Not sure how I feel about the glow ring at the bezel but over all I really like the light.

Thanks,
I got a friend the aluminum one and she likes it so I figured the reviews have been pretty good why not.  I like it and since I'm not a big lumen chaser then the out put is very adequate.

Yes its the Lumintop Worm, nice all floody beam.  Now I'm ready to pull the trigger on the 4/7s Preon P0 and possibly the Thrunite T10S

I have the streamlight nano on my house keys and love it, I also have the Photon X on my vehicle keys and love it as well.
