The saw is what seperates the Climber and the Huntsman. Honestly, I'd rather get the chisel behind the saw blade like you find in the Ranger and larger knifes, but they don't do that.
As for the hook, that is there for a lot of reasons. My favorite is tightening laces- shoe laces usually, but other things get laced up and a gentleman always has the tool to help a damsel in distress.
But it really works well for tightening up iced up boot laces to.
