Victorinox nail file
on: December 14, 2013, 10:25:31 PM
I would like to add a nail file to a 91 victorinox in the small blade slot.
What would work? Thinking like the one found on a cadet or the one offered from wenger.
Has anyone done this?
Anyone have a nail file sitting around and would like to trade?

Also here is my first creation:

Used an electrician blade, mechanics pliers and the rest from an explorer. Plus scales and had the liners black anodized.

I need to get into those colored finishes; Cerakote, anodizing, etc.... Was this mod specifically made for a certain task?
My mods get made with purpose in mind. The perfect EDC, mod helper, etc...

As far as Nail file goes, as long as you drill out it's 2.25mm hole to 2.5 it'll should fit (opinion not fact) since the 84mm combo tool will fit with such a modification.
Not sure about snap or if you'll be able to access the nail nick. Your going to have to try some trial and error. Money will need to be spent on this hobby for progress. I know this to well...

The Cadet is Alox only and not the cheapest to try this this project with. Look for a Sportsman. If your in the states try this...

This seems the most economical plus their is at least one other sportsman I saw.
You should ask this question again in the Swiss forum. The Mod section seems dead TBH... So few topics so few responses.

Thanks for the link. Just bought them.
Hadn't seen the sportsman model.
As far as the anodizing I have a friend that does it. So he through it in with other stuff. He can only do black and orange.

As far as uses I work on cars for a living so those implements come in handy.

Nice! If you didn't scoop up the 3 84mm's I was going to. Bill has good prices. Ssshhh! Don't let the others know. >:D

Just out of curiosity have you used any model SAK with the Metal Saw/file? You mentioned you work on cars and I thought that may be another implement that could complement your tool set.
I'd be lost without my metal file. It helps me build my mods...

I've had the metal file in knifes before but have not used it for anything at work.
But I have been wanting a Nile file/cleaner to use in the small blade slot.

The nail file will fit on a 93alox, but as for a 91, idk, it's a freaking tight fit on the 93! I had one custom made by syph, here's the link, look about 3/4 down the page, syph posts a red alox with with the nail file,, JR

Idk why it's not opening, but go to this    subject and quote number    1220
And so it begins.... (My adventures into Alox!)

Sorry haven't finished the project. I have all the pieces but not the time to finish. Plus I'm stuck between nail file or electrician blade.

Well I guess I'll have to attempt this anyway. Been wanting to make A Victorinox version of a Wenger Diplomat (2 layer with Blade, file, and scissors) will call it the Victorinox Emissary.

Got to find a cheap Sportsman. Have my eye on one. Hope I can get it with little opposition...and by little I mean none.  :D
