Warranty work
on: January 03, 2012, 03:22:07 AM
I have a multi-plier that came from Wal-mart about 1995. The pliers broke and I would like to send them in for repair but since they are an old model I don't know if they will fix them or send me a replacement. I would not mind an exact replacement but I don't want anything that they are making now as a replacement for my tool. Does anyone have any knowledge or advise in this area.
Thanks,
Gene

My guess would be that you'd likely get a MP600 as a replacement, though Gerber have an excellent reputation for customer service and it's worth dropping them a mail and asking directly.  if it absolutely has to be a Multi-plier then you might want to try ebay or sticking up a thread in our "wanted" section.

If it's any help I think the MP600 is actually a very decent tool. :)

I'd agree with Gareth's comments, and if it has to be the old style multiplier .... I might be able to help you  ;)

Thanks guys. I don't have to have an original multiplier; I just hate to trade one for the new model. It would be kind of like sending a Buck 110 from 1982 and getting back a 2012 model in exchange when the old one just had a lose blade.
Thanks again,
Gene
