Slip Joint SOGZilla knife

As the title says, SOG has a new version of the SOGZilla for those folks that don't want to deal with potential legal areas like the UK where locking blades may be illegal.  It looks pretty good to us, although the sample we played with was a bit stiff, probably due to a beefed up backspring.  The pocket clip is ambidextrous, which is a nice touch.

Their website does show a plain edged version of this, which I prefer. From a UK legal perspective I'm not quite sure where this falls, as their website shows a 3.2" blade length whereas UK law states 3" cutting edge ... so there's a chance this could be within that range (for public carry).

Eitherway it's on my wish list as I'm not a fan of locks in general, and even if it's oversize for public carry I could make very good use of it. The beefed up backspring, depth of carry, and NOT being a supersteel (hopefully nice and easy to sharpen up) just makes it even more appealing.

I think last years offerings from pretty much everybody  left me cold - but 2012 is looking like my wallet might be getting some agro. So far SOG, Wenger, and LM are all liable to be seeing some purchases from me once their stuff hits the shelves. There's some very interesting stuff coming through :tu:

I really like that. Then I read the website details. 3.2 inch blade?  No good for UK EDC. Shame really, that could have been a sekller here.

A rather interesting snippet from their web site ...

"In devising this line, which includes several sizes and blade shapes we wanted to make the SOGzilla distinctive...."

Sounds like this could get VERY interesting  :woohoo:
