From the link Kreskin posted:
As always, Leatherman is committed to U. S. A. production. A conscious decision has been made to keep their production in Oregon.

What's their definition of "production"?

Us common men can't outsmart the entire chinese leadership, we WILL buy their products if we want to live everyday lives.

Their ships come in with chinese junk, and those same ships leave with tons of our "scrap" metal, or so I've heard.  I wonder what china wants with metal?

As much as I might like everything to be made in the USA
Patriotism aside, neither America nor Australia is really old enough (If we count age from when we White Fellas came and slaughtered the natives) to have long histories of industry - unlike those pesky Europeans, flaunting their age like senile gaffers.

Why I oughta take their canes!

Hey I just checked and my trousers are made in India, my shirt in Bangledesh, My underwear in China and my shoes in Argentina. You know what. I like them all. As much as I might like everything to be made in the USA, it ain't gonna happen so enjoy what you have.

+1000 on this one!
ENJOY! :climber:
Enjoy!

I'd kill a man for a shirt made in Bangladesh, it sounds like a great talking point.

Trousers - Some China, some Oz, some Fiji.
Shirts - Mostly China and Oz.
Singlets - All Oz.
Jackets - one China, one Oz.

Hats - 3 Oz (Evidently, there are not too many rabbits in China)

Just for a switcheroo - When "Big American" conglomerate companies buy up the small Australian companies and get fatter off the profits and reputation, it offends me just as much as when someone moves labour offshore :)

With all the rabbits you guys have why would you need to go elsewhere?

Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

It's a joke from a recent line of adverts.

"Dad, Why did they build the Great Wall Of China?"

"Uhh, The Great Wall of China was built during the reign of Emperor Nasi goreng, to keep the rabbits out.

Too many rabbits in China"

I never heard that one but I can imagine it's a good one!

By the way, what kind of hats have you got?  I used to have an Akubra Tracker that I loved until I lost it in Tennessee... now I wear a Tilley.

As long as it's made on Earth, I won't complain too much.  Now, if those Martians and Venusians start trying to peddle their stuff here, then we'll just have to put up a fence around the planet.   :ahhh

I agree with this for the most part but I want my knives and multi-tools made in Switzerland.

Absolutely, great point. Me too.  :climber:

Akubra Cattleman (I had to go to the Akubra site just now to find out the model. I don't think it is wrote on the hat)
Another Akubra so worn and distorted that all I can tell you is it is sort of grey in colour, and a Slouch Hat.
(I call the latter my "Commando Hat", but that actually refers to where it was made  ;) )
