I have EDC my Surge for going on 10 years now. First the original and now the new (only because they discontinued the original and gave me a new when I sent mine in for repairs). I work in the HVAC industry. First as a technician on light commercial package units and now as a Lab Tech in performance testing. It is like an extension of my hand. I use the Scissors constantly, cutting TC wires, cutting wicks/socks for wet bulb measurements. Did I mention I love the bit extension? With it, the possibilities are endless. It turns the Surge into pretty much any nutdriver or driver I need. I'm almost convinced I need to carry a second just to lone out while I'm at work....Really????...Get your own!!!! I keep another set that I have modified a bit, but it is not as comfortable to EDC. There are a few things I would change, but ultimately it is a true piece of craftsmenship and let's be honest, the warranty is awesome!  :tu:

I also EDC 2 sheathes with a Surge, 2 bit kits, extender, flashlight, and 2 pens. At most that's 500g which on a belt is nothing.

I carry my surge with a clip in my pocket and a nylon case for a charge in the carpenter pocket of my jeans with 2 bit cards, extension,  either the file or saw for my Surge and a AAA flashlight in it.

I put mine on my belt every now and then when I do not carry my Wave. I actually have a new and old Surge. I have no problem with its size or weight, as a matter of fact, I like it just the way it is!  I also just bought a multitool that makes the Surge look like a key chain tool! I have also carried that in its sheath on my belt with no problems!  >:D

It is actually a Kilimanjaro Magnus, a lesser known tool. It is actually considerably larger than the Blacktip (I own one of them also). The blade on this thing is 4 inches long!

I carry mine everyday at work with a few things for it. I carry the pouch with bits written on it in my pocket, the bit driver extender, etc I keep in that little pouch.

Very nice set up KD  :tu:.

When I carry my Surge I also carry a bit card and extender plus several T shank saws.  I got the Molle XL sheath ( MUT sheath ) and it works good.  I've been testing out another sheath that I'll post up pics here later.

I was about to post what I think of the Surge,

But apparently I already did....in 2008.

Now I just feel crotchety AND old.
