Tweeked SOGs part2
on: September 19, 2011, 01:50:25 PM
So here we go again with my slightly modded SOGs:

Last time we seen the bladeless PPP.Since then its had another slight tweek:

The broad flat drivers been dropped in favour of a spacer,to easy opening and lessen clumping. As this is a work tool, quick deployment of tools is a big plus.

My PPP-R was canabalised to do the bladeless, but once new parts arrived in from the States, its been reserrected!

The R stands for Rescue.I'd had a serious play with the idea of rescue knives, but as most of them are either fixed bladed or locking,I gave up the idea(at least until I find a Boker biscuit type at the right price :D.However,a PPP with a v cutter??And here it is!

Lastly(for the minute) is the Paratool!I'd planned to fit scissors and a bit driver to it,but as it turns out the scissors are to smurfing long to fit!Anyway...

My Powerlock arrived this morning,so there could well be part 3 in the near future!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Yeh Paul, theres an undate, and it aint a good one :(The Scissors wound need to loose about a centimeter per blade in order to fit.I'm guessing it could be dremmeled down, but I think its beyond my capacity to do though

Here is my paratool that I carry every day.
I removed the file and can opener on the right side and replaced them with the scissors and quarter inch drive. Then removed the straight blade from the left replacing it with the file, you just have to dremmel a small notch in the handle to allow the scissors to fold away. I think the scissors work really well you just operate them with your first finger underneath rather than your thumb above.
As said I carry this everyday sometimes along with my pocket pal or compact which gives me a more public friendly straight blade.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Also the leatherman bit driver kit, the one that slips over the Phillips on the  s2, blast, super tool, works great with the SOG Phillips as well.

A guy called mccoys_deals on eBay where he advertises the 1/4" drive. Sent him a message with regards to the scissors which he supplied no problem, just may take a few weeks as he is in the States.
