What's Your Bits?
on: January 18, 2012, 02:56:03 PM
Just wondering what everyone carries in their Vic bit holder?

Anything different or unusual?

Did you replace any of the stock bits with something more specific?

The Beretta Cybertool has several special bits for working on guns.

I can't believe that everyone is carrying this thing around with four empty holes (like me).

I wish they would have made a provision for this:

I do not have one of those. I thought you were talking about the CyberTool bits.

My bad, thought everyone knew what I was thinking...

So now that I'm not being so obtuse, anything anyone is finding useful to keep in the holder?

Is this part of the Victorinox ratchet set? I guess it goes with the Swiss Tools.

Mayne a couple of peanuts or a rolled up stick of gum? Jolly Ranchers candy? Rolled up money? Small golfing sized pencil? Magnets? I always find magnets useful. Some of those James Bond rubber bands? Part of a cigarette maybe if you are a smoker?

What else could we stuff into those 4 holes? I wonder why they even have extra holes?

Don't carry it much as I edc a Spirit solo, but this one is in one of my bags with another Spirit.

Couple extra small Torx and a couple Robertson fill out the kit.  I think the rest are stock.

I gather that one gets the bit case and either the bit wrench or bit ratchet plus bits.
ratchet (30 Nm)
bit wrench with
-bit Hex 3 (Inbus)
-bit Hex 4 (Inbus)
-bit Philips 0
-bit Philips 3
-bit Torx 10
-bit Torx 15
(list from Victorinox Swiss Army site)

I added a Philips #2, specifically a Grabber #2.

I understand the marking PH for Philips Head, Tx for Torx, but why SW for the hex bits? Style W perhaps, S for socket, S for six, or short for SAE as opposed to DIN (metric)?

I also noticed that I appear to have gotten  shortchanged. I got two of the 3.0316.3 or SW 3 bits instead of one of the SW 3 and a Tx 15. I other words I did not get a Tx 15. Has anybody else had this happen?.

I would probably use the bits more if I had a plus case for my Spirit X.  ;)

I have the stock bits plus a Robertson, because some of the furniture in my house is assembled with Robertson screws. As of yesterday, a micro screwdriver is in there too.
