Now that I am not stuck in line at the airport (rather waiting for enough time to pass to get into the next line  ::) ) I have the opportunity to upload the official press release photos of all three colors.

And here are the Sell Sheets:

Enjoy!  :D

Thanks for the official press pictures.... I have to say that this Dime tool is probably the most useful thing I've seen in a long time from Gerber. It really packs a lot of useful features into a compact little tool. The straight edge blade is fantastic (no useless serrations!), the clamshell opener is infinitely useful, the bottle opener is very well thought-out and one flathead driver is all you really need most of time. On top of that, you get a pair of scissors AND pliers for light-duty. G-10 handles on the black one too?? Very nice....

Very impressed so far. Out of all the 2012 SHOT releases from any company, this one wins it for me.

I'll be in for 2 of the blacked-out versions!

I think they used the wrong copy for the black one's advert... I'm sure it doesn't have a three-inch blade! So I doubt it's got G10 scales.

To be honest I haven't gone through the ad copy!  You are right, it is certainly not a three inch blade!

Wow, Gerber did a really sloppy job photoshopping the red version.

This looks like a pretty promising tool. I'll have to get one when they're out.

Sorry, I'm just now getting around to weighing in on this thread. :salute:  The Dime is indeed a surprisingly well built tool, judging by what time we got to play with it. I say "surprisingly", because like most of you folks, I've been disappointed with the parade of keychain tools coming out of Gerber over the past several years. The Clutch and Shortcut were not all that great, but they were WAY better than the Splice and Vise, both of which felt pretty cheap and crappy to be honest. And does anyone even remember the Solstice or the Eclipse from just a few years ago? I thought not. ::)

But the Dime, like Grant says, feels like a real quality built little tool. :salute: Clearly built to go head-to-head with Leatherman's Squirt PS4, I think it will stand up very well to the competition. :salute:

The only questions now is, what colour are you guys getting? :D

I thought the question around here is, how many of each color are you getting?

We'll be sure to announce them high, loud and mighty when we have any details.  Meanwhile, if there's ever anything you want, send Travis a message.  He has access to anything that any other dealer has available, plus buying from him keeps Multitool.org operating.

I think they're taking the mick. >:(  I'm not normally one to moan about the cost differences between us and the US, but this is ridiculous.  A tool that has a RRP of $20 in the States and it's the equivalent of $56 over here?

I figured only buying one wouldn't be cost effective in postage  :P  :D :D

If you want - have a word with him and get him to tag yours in my order and I'll forward it up when it lands - might save a few quid

Knifecenter had the black on black Dime "in stock" the last couple of days. Today it is marked "discontinued". I wonder what's up with that?

That was probably mislabeled.  My guess is it's either sold out or wasn't available in the first place.  When it comes to new release tools I, and a lot of other members here have been burned by dealers who take pre-orders or list items as "in Stock" before they arrive.  These dealers are trying to lock up your money rather than take a chance on you getting the item somewhere else or at a better price.

I only consider pre-orders with dealers I know and trust.

Well I can personally vouch for Travis- he's a good guy and he and his wife Cynthia ensure everyone is properly looked after.  I'm not suggesting anything bad about Knifecenter but I really don't know them so I can't say with any confidence what they may or may not be doing.  I do know they have been around forever, so I would guess they are probably on the level, but I wouldn't bet my money (or anyone else's) on it.

A few years ago there was a similar issue with Skeletools- everyone pre-ordered them wherever they could, and a lot of them from established dealers.  Leatherman couldn't produce them fast enough to keep up with demand and they started shipping to some locations while others had to wait, meanwhile we had members who had pre-ordered them weeks (and in some cases months) earlier, while other guys were picking them up off the shelves at their local Home Depots.  It caused a lot of frustration for a lot of people and I hate to see it happening again.
