There are so many options for tool layouts with the Alox range I don't understand why Victorinox don't make more model's instead of discontinuing the whole range...Alox models are getting harder to find here in the UK ???

You've created a great system for fitting them together :tu:
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Ya for sure pioneer plus scissors is a safe bet.  Half the total mods I've done have been that.   I have a bunch of metal saws too, so I think Id like to do pioneer + scissors + metal saw too.  A couple of them at least.

I wont locktite these ones yet, so that when I sell them the customer can still opt to add a pocket clip or no keyring whatever the preference.  I think thats the best way to account for different carry tastes.

 :D

That's one I like the sounds of :tu:

I've wanted a blue Pioneer for years and Syph has made it possible to get one in blue with the tool load out of my choice. I also like that it can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. I can't wait to place my order later this year  :D

The enki black scale and red liner combo is becoming the most requested color scheme of all time now, and Ive had about 15 orders waiting for these babies.  Finally red liners back in stock. mmm red....  These things are still quite a lot of work to make, but they do look nice.

I should have trademarked the double opener idea. I could have paid for the mods I have sitting in a drawer waiting on $.

Well today I am working on the biggest alox monster Ive ever done.  I usually caution against going past 4 layers, but why not 7! :D  I dont think this will be one to carry, but rather one to just show in a collection.

This one has all the top tools of a swiss champ except the fishscaler.

The pivots are a full 1 inch long!  ::)

I can usually use my fingers to snap the top scale on a 3 or 4 layer... well a 7 layer.. NOPE.  Needed to use the vice and all those springs exert alot of force!

Where do you get the longer pivots?
I can only find 1/2 pivots so far?

I decided to prototype some 91mm alox today.  Just a ribbed texture since Im doing this by hand.. someday I'll have it CNC'd.

I think I'll just do red ribbed alox explorer with brass liners for a first text of how it works.

I've never really been a fan of Alox and rarely carry the ones I own, but as these mods develop and evolve there is a greater and greater chance there could be a Syphinox in my future  :D

So I decided to start adding more content to youtube.  I kept getting notices of people subscribing, so I figured I'd just start taking videos of me working on stuff.  I broke down 10 pioneers today for more parts and Im getting pretty quick at it.  Less than 2 minutes each which is WAY faster than it was in the early days where I had way to complicated of methods.  :D

Now I just drill, hit, repeat.

I know Im going to need a proper tripod thing at some point. You can see the camera keep tilting down as I hammer... lol.  Oh well, Im no videographer.

What he said.
And a tiny remark: Please - No gloves whan working on rotating tools. Rubber gloves will probably rip before the drill harms you, but a glove finger catched in a drill bit can take a finger off.

Teaching mode off. ;-)

Now I´m looking forward to the progress.
