PARTS FINALLY!!! :D :D :D

For everyone waiting for BO parts, I just got them an hour ago.  This is what 20 spartans and 10 alox customs worth of parts looks like.  :D

BO on stainless is more expensive than the anodize processes.  So to help with the cost I have run spartan parts from left over donor knives.  All brand new parts to get a new lease on life.  :D

This time though, I've got black liners too!!! :D

There was a trick to this though.  Since the normal spacer under the blade tip is nickel silver, I cant BO it. SO.. I needed some Aluminum spacers in 0.040".  Well luckily one of the liners that come in a SAK with pliers is also 0.040" so I used those to cut up to make spacers.  1 liner made 4 and I used aluminum rivets to attach them to the liners.  That was a nice trick since its the same Al grade and colored the same!

So I'll have 20 BO'd spartans with black liners available in the sales section next week.  Some with black scales, some with red, and also the option to buy with no scales if you have some to use.

Cheers!

Can I ask what the price (might) be on the Spartans or would you rather wait until they are done?

I was selling them last time for $40.  There was some more work and cost to get the liners black for this run, so probably I'll be asking $45-$50.

Oh I forgot, I included 2 saw layers (with chisel back tool), so its actually 18 spartans and 2 campers.

 :imws:...errr I wanted to say: I´dlike to know that,too.
Looking great, Robert!

I bet these woulkd look killer with either Silvertech, wooden or black Nylon scales.
Or, some red stained, oiled wood, maybe? A tad darker than cellidor red. With a black inlaid Swiss cross.
Maybe I need one or 2 and then need to talk to MWDP?!

Yup there are some cool scale options I think.  I have regular red and black scales.  I figure I'll put them together, then put red on one, black on another then people can decide if they'd like either of those colors of stock scales, or get them with no scales if they plan to use something else.

White scales would make a stormtrooper spartan.

BO spartan ( and one camper ) assembly started.  They look very nice dressed in the black liners so that was worth the effort.  I had to edge sand them all so the anodizing would take.

Its nice to give these parts a chance at a home.  Ive bought so many explorers and swiss champs to steel the middle layers out, it feels like a waste to have a huge bucket of new leftover parts.  I think I still have enough for another 50 or more spartans. I need to get creative though and think up something else to try.

I could serrate one blade, but I couldnt decide if I would rather have the small or large blade serrated.  I think the large, but then im not sure.  I have some serrated 93mm blades in this BO batch and they turned out nice.  They are for a new dual blade configuration Im trying tonight. :D
