I just finnished reading all the posts ( took me 2 days ) ::)

Great work Syph!! Very beautifull SAK"s, I love them all!!

It was really interesting to see your progress and experimenting with different options, procceses and tools. Loved to see how you start doing more and more yourself.

Keep it up! You're a excellent craftsman! :salute:

Whoa! Thats some dedication to read through 3 years of this topic. :D

I got some new alox mods coming next month to freshen things up a bit too, so keep reading.   :tu:

As long as you keep making these awesome SAK's I'll keep reading. :salute:
Can't wait to see your next mod!

Ooh I did that a few months back! utterly fascinating :D

I used to do the same for other threads when I was an office worker.  Sometimes when you're stuck in a cubicle dreaming about not being stuck in a cubicle, reading long threads is a good distraction.  :D

Ive got 2 new mod offerings being worked on right now, but Im waiting on parts to come back before i show what I've been up to.  The wait is killing me though as I cant wait to get started on some new ideas!

Well I should have the first set of parts back in a couple weeks.  :D

Today I was trying to use up all the spare parts from 84mm SAKs I had sitting around.  I had a pair of 84mm scissors that were really abused and ones I used as a template to cut down 91mm scissors.

I wish I took before shots, as I rehabbed the scissors today and they are beautiful.  They had the screw before, I drilled it out, then cleaned and polished each half, sharpened each piece and rivetted together.  I recycled a brass pin from a 58mm SAK and it was a perfect fit.  They cut as good as new 91mm scissors now, and much better than any stock 84mm scissors I have ever seen.  The screw style scissors just seemed to get too loose I think.

My custom alox from Syph showed up a couple of days ago (very impressed, the photos posted here don't do it justice).  I've been following this thread for the last year or so and the knifes arrival got me interested in looking again at how he goes about making them, so I did a quick re-read through the thread over the last couple of days.
Wondering whatever happened to the BO Workchamp parts you got done?  Did you ever assemble them?  Also did you ever make a sak with those 111mm alox scales you made?

Glad you are happy with the SAK!

I started a few 111mm projects but havent finished any yet, but as soon as I get a free day I'll try to fit the 111mm alox scales on something.  The T&T slots need tweaking to work, which is why I wasnt super excited to do it, but will get around to it.

I forgot to send the workchamp liners for black alox, so I need to get those done before I can build a blackout one.

Working in wenger land today, well one wenger and a delemont.  I'm merging 2 models and BOing the parts, and doing the liners in black anodize.

There are alot of little liner bits that are not aluminum so I'll have to reproduce those in Al in order to have them anodized.

I owned the cigar cutter for about an hour when it arrived.  Tried it once and sent it back asap.  Horrible.  I much prefer the Vic cutter.

Have you tried dry assembling them? Do the layers fit over one other or have the pins on the Delemont moved to Vic positions? I see they use new liners now and no longer support the old attachment option.

Guess it is true that Vic changed out the assembling equipment at the old Wenger Delemont factory.  Thanks for the pics Syph.  Nice to see the process documented. Never seen the layers of the golf and cigar SAKs disassembled.

Thought the biggest difference with the new Vic Delemonts were the larger outer attachment layer where the liners are now flush with the scales and no longer recessed.  Also for models with the combo can opener implement, the new Vic Delemonts have the Vic version which is much better than the old Wenger version.

Ya it was time for the 91mm's to get some love.  I get asked a few times a week, if I have any mods for that frame and I got tired of saying no.  My first mod will be for a super tinker and deluxe tinker, my personal favorites.

Lots of options with Ti scales.  Polished, tumbled, colored.  The scales can be peen assembled, or drilled out for screws/pivots.  With my BO spartan modding I showed that the stock liners anodize fine, so I can get those colored in red/black and make a brass option as well.   :tu:  The scales can be textures on my mill, or slots milled for T&T.... Lots more moddin ahead!
