I have another question regarding the pen: if you cut a longer slot, will it fit instead of the toothpic? P.s.: I'm trying to contact you through pm and email for a mod.

Im working on a copper accented Ti mod next.  It was actually easier to fill with copper as it flowed easier I could be less exact with the hand cutting of the + shape and it squished itself in there nicely.

I had a very old mod of mine come back for a change and it was so nice to see something come in that had been used.

This was number 83 ( Im currently working on 425 ) so this was quite an older one.

Here is what it looked like as delivered.  This was a bladeless mod.

And here is what it looks like today.  The owner decided a small blade to be of more use than can opener, and also wanted the keyring removed.

It was nice to see some worn alox, I dont get to see it often.  :D  Ive had some cerakote mods come back but they dont hold up near as well as anodize so I'll probably not bother with cerakote again.

And project Ti with copper is done now too.

I didn't have copper rod the right size to rivet the tweezer head together.. then after some digging in the garage I found some household wire.  Turns out the diameter of the ground wire is 1/16th inch, the exact rivet size I use and it's pure copper.  Worked great.  :D

This is a none backscale cutout build so it has the awl on back for blade layer.

If the Al and Cu were touching yes, but since the Al is anodized its non conductive.  The Ti is pretty well inert so maybe the copper would oxidize faster?  Not sure really but we'll see what happens. :D

Do you have a hidden 4th pin for holding the back springs that have back side tools?  I would like to try putting a multitool hook in an 84mm alox.

Yes I drill into the scale of each side about 2 mm with carbide PCB circuit board drill bit of 2.2mm and that works perfect.

84 alox scales are too thin to sink a hole that far but you might be able to get it deep enough to work if you use a 2.2mm endmill after first spotting the hole with a standard pointed drill bit.

A couple of questions for you Syph, and maybe this was covered elsewhere, but what is required to put a small blade in a 93mm in place of the awl, is there a factory spacer that works?

And, is the file from a 91mm a direct drop in on a 93mm saw spring?

Thanks in advance, I'm trying to figure out what to send you for a custom, if you're willing and still taking 93mm requests.

 :)

A small blade is a wee bit thinner than the awl, so I make little washers to fill out the remainer of the space, but other than that they fit no problem.

91mm file works on the 93mm saw spring with no changes needed (other than making the pivot hole bigger).

:D

I still have a decent stash of BO'd 93mm parts but they dont get asked for too often.  Here is one I put together today on request.  A good combination of tools in 3 layers.  :D

Beautiful BO double blade Syph...even better on the 93mm frame so they can be on opposite pivots.  Nice work.

I got some more 91mm alox in.  I machined a tweezer slot in a few this time.  :D

I love this 4 layer setup.  Lots of tools and still reasonable on thickness.  Every layer has a backtool and no hook on scissors layer for the hook haters either... :D

CNC machined 6061 Al scales
Black hard anodized
Brass liners
Brass Nub on tweezers

1.  combo tool / main blade / phillips
2.  metal file / chisel
3.  wood saw / fine driver
4.  scissors / awl

Just made it through this entire thread. Amazing work, Syph. I'm inspired. Seeing as how you don't work on 84mm, I may take a stab at modding my Cadet. If I may ask, can the saw from a 84mm Lumberjack replace the blade in a Cadet. Usually the saw in an 84mm pivots on the "fat" end. Will it work on the skinny the end in place of the blade?

Wow you need a prize for reading the whole thread! :D  The saw only works on the saw backspring as far as I know.  Its not a tapered tools like a blade and its the same thickness the whole way, so its not a good tool to share with another tool in the same layer.

Thanks for the info regarding the saw. That makes a lot of sense as to why I never see a 93mm saw sharing a layer with something like an awl.

So if I was looking for a slim, bladeless 93mm sak that featured a saw, a cap lifter, an inline phillps and an awl, could the awl sit opposite the inline phillips next to the cap lifter?
