Just got this one finished up.  Another option for can opener haters! :D  Red HA Cadet with scissors, brass liners and a small blade in place of the can opener.

Wow!! That's a great idea, didn't know that would work.  I love how both blades open on the same end and both are on the outside.  This is excellent.  Any trick to get the small blade to fit opposite the caplifter?   If it's not taken....

This one is in the mail already heading to a land down under. :D

The blade won't fit as it comes.  I put it in a vice and gave it a gentle bend in the opposite direction so it would fit in the same layer as the cap lifter.  I heat formed kydex over my vice jaws so they dont mar the metal, and the best way to give a sak blade a gentle bend I found was to mount in a vice, then hold a chunk of 2x4 against the bade and hit hard with a mallet, check for fit and repeat until happy.  As long as you are only bending a few degrees the blade is no worse for wear.

I stopped by the electroplater on the way into work and the OD Green was ready!!!  I snapped a cell phone pic of what I got which doesn't show the color too well, I'll take some proper high res ones when I get home.  They look beautiful in person and turned out way better than the sample he showed me.

I got mostly 93s, some 84s, liners, and one 84 backscale that I did a cutout for the corkscrew.  I'm going to make an OD green 84mm alox golfer for fun.  :D

I talked to him more about his BO treatment and he was showing me that its pretty durable, way more than the Vic BO treatment, so I am for sure going to go ahead with that in the future.

Its about a shade darkier in person than the photo shows, and it looks quite nice.  Now I can get some green scales on that bushcrafter I made before.  :D  Ive tried all his scale colors now except purple, but I cant see a big demand for that color.

You got it.  He got me more interested today as he said he has his own process (hot method, with custom electrolyte) that hes been working on for years as his own trade secret for BO. I must admit that the pieces he showed me were much more durable than other BO tools I've had.  He said he'd expect a knife to be put to work for years before it showed much wear.  I'm sure hes upselling a bit, but he did get me curious enough to want to try.

Here are some better pics of the green, and a couple of group shots with the whole color family of scales I've done so far.  These look much better and are pretty accurate to how it looks in person.

Looks perfect.  And since this is its intended use, what do you say we call it a Woodcrafter instead?

HA in colors and black oxide that doesn't wear off easily? Is your guy some kind of mad electroplater scientist?
Just out of curiosity, how much would a full set of Urban Pioneers in each color cost? That would make an awesome little collection.

Ha, ya I dont know how much selling he was doing. So we'll see how the BO turns out, but it's worth a try at least.  It cant be worse than Vic BO, theirs was horrid on the one model I owned.  Just opending and closing the blades was taking it off like it was shoe polish.

A set of 5 Urbans eh... they do look nice together.  :D  If I get enough spare scales around I'll have to run the purple just to have a 6th option.  Well there is gold too, but I really didnt like the look of it at all, and marketing it as earwax gold probably doesn't sound too appealing.

Here's my latest off the mod bench. 84mm green alox wilderness.  I had to krink the pruner blade about 3 degrees to get it to nest well with the main blade, but it worked out perfect.  All the tools open and close smooth and clear each other just fine.

Cheers
