Interesting is an understatement I am thinking.

What about a whole scale in Mokume? Now that would be "interesting".

Too heavy for large SAKs, but for the 58s, for sure.

I EDC a Surge so how heavy are we talking?

A 58 would be nice though with these scales.

And here is something Ive sure never done before.  A customer sent me 5x 84mm knives and wanted this constructed from the parts.  It took quite the amount of effort to get the tools arranged so that no nail nicks were blocked.  The scissors were also heavily scratched, dull and loose so I took them apart to clean and polish and used a nickel silver rivet to reassemble good as new.  :D

That's an interesting set up Bob  :salute: I know all too well what you mean about the nail nicks  :ahhh you did a great job figuring that one out. Not an easy task to get that right. Did you get this project before or after I was wrestling with the Mega84?  :D

Also, you wouldn't happen to have any spare 84mm bushings would you?

I got this one after your mod, but I knew the knives were coming so I was curious to see your mod for sure.

Ive got lots of spare bushings.  They are the same size as the inner 4th pin bushings on 91s.

On facebook SB posted a pic of his new prototype scales.

They look familiar for some reason...

If you count the number of rows from end to end its 25... crazy coincidence!

Your implementation of the cross is way way better/superior - In fact very clever
SB's is pretty rubbish - IMHO - Although nice to have the tp.

Anyway - I thought he did not do/approve of mods ??

Besides aesthetics, I think the +B ones are glued on or press fitted?
In any way, the alox style with pins through the scales is far superior.

Good to see you, Crackout!
And  on the SB Syph Knockoff scales.
I´m fine if someone makes their own attempt on Alox scales for 91mm, but it should be visible it is really THEIR OWN attempt, IMHO.
Never mind, if I need an Alox conversion I´ll ask on MTO, we have plenty of original makers/artists here.

And, as Oscar Wilde put it: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - So someone might have been impressed by your work. Take it as a compliment.

Ya I dont care so much really, its just funny to me that he thinks modders are dirty scum, but he can derive 'inspiration' from my work.

Stick on scales arent the way to go for an upgrade anyhow as it doesnt give it the alox look or feel, and you have to keep the outer liners that way.  He also had made 'prototype' scales before that he never actually followed through on, so I'd be very surprised to see these actually produced.

Ecactly my thoughts, Robert. He has had some nice products over the years, and I found Swissbianco Canada to be a pleasant business partner but what i read from him and about him was not always positive, to say teh least. And I don´t understand his hatred for modders the least.

The Bushcrafter looks great. I think I will put an Atwood Flat Wrunt on the split ring.

Lowtech and Huntsman nailed it with their responses.  The sb scales look "unrefined" vs yours.

I only have one of Syph's pieces but I have a couple of SB knives. I can definitely say that Syph's pieces are in a different league. The back springs and attention to detail are incredible. I suspect SB hates modders because they undercut his "special" relationship with Victorinox.
