Parts are in! :D  The scale wrench is rev. 3.

I didnt bother to show the first 2 versions as they had some funny design flaws that didnt occur to me until I tried to use them.  I'll explain in a later post, but this version works great.  One side is to tighten, other to loosen.  Normally a OPT wrench only needs one, but you can flip a normal OPT to use either side, cant do that with a scale mounted to a SAK.  :D  So yes ver 1 could only loosen bolts night tighten....

Yes! Potential Yeoman mod: mag glass and wrench on one layer and the Phillips as a back tool.

Great job, Bob!

...as for the scale wrench... Why not make it symmetrical with 'steps' on both sides?

That was ver 2.  It didnt work, not enough surface contact and it slipped out.  Here is what that one looked like.

Ver 3 I just did a regular bump pattern and it fits all the imperial and metric bolts Ive tried so far.

Wow. Are the wrench scales 91 or 93?

Looks like 93mm to me

I too would like confirmation as this puts a custom SAK much closer to the top of my 'spend money on it' list.

I'd also like to know if the double opener would fit across from the wrench...

93 ya.  I'll have something like this for 91s too though in 3-4 weeks.  Its parts making month.  :D  I still got a few other coming in too.

Heres today's work.  A 91mm compact that I left a brushed style finish on.  This has Aluminum cross as well.  It actually leaves a decent contrast on the bare Ti.

Questions about the new wrench piece.

1. Will it fit on the same layer as the double opener (can and bottle)?
2. Will the philips fit across from it?

Both assume the 93mm frame.

Now, for the version with inline wrench as a layer tool, one could make a scale that has just the bit cut-out, in place of the cross...

I have to get one prepped then I can test it.  I tested the fit of the wrench area on teh scales and those work perfect.  I have a set tumbling right now.  :D

Oh yes they are looking good.  :D  The 1/4 inch bit holder is perfect.  Its slightly tapered and retains the bit perfectly.  It does not fall out at all.  :D

These are 93mm scales right?

If you were to carry some bits you would not even need the inline phillips. Would make for some interesting tool combos.

Yep 93.  I will have scale options with this type of thing for all sizes though.

Have any issues with bolts slipping or being rounded off?

In the 5 minutes Ive test this, zero issues! :D

This thing is COOL :D

The wrenches work great! One side is to turn counterclockwise, the other clockwise. I put that scale as the front to keep the blade layer from damage. Also the cap lifter works great to retain the 1/4 bit for bits that are slightly on the thin side and want to fall out.  Id like to pretend that was by design, but its just a very happy coincidence.

It's like a functional skeletonization, works well and looks really cool.

My questions for you are:   Are you still cutting the crosses by hand or are they wjc in small batches and you just finish them for a snug fit?
Do the scales need any machining? They look a little tumbled.

The scales are tumbled ya.  I thought people would want anodized finishes.. turns out 90% of people prefer the matte gray natural finish.  Overnight tumbling with cermic pyramids are what Ive been doing.  I do however hand sand the surfaces and edges otherwise they wouldnt turn out as smooth looking.

I do still cut the brass/copper crosses by hand to fit, but my technique has improved both on quality and speed.  I can cut and fit one in about 15 minutes now.  First try was 2 hours... but I had to make some spcial square punches to peen them from the backside.

Jewelers sawing is also very relaxing.   I learned from this video.  :D

Will take a look at the video later, but thanks for the link.

I find interesting that folks don't want ano, one of the main + point in using Ti IMO is that it seems easier than Al to color. ??? Perhaps is just me.
