Those are some good looking tools there! I love the polished brass look on just about any knife; it adds a touch of class.

That black/brass Lumberjack with scissors looks pretty sweet. Can't wait for it to make it's way south here to Pa...  :)  There is just so much fantastic looking work in this thread. Each page brings so many new ideas, and so much to learn. I know, preaching to the choir. Thanks, Syph!   :tu:

Very nice Syph :tu: I kinda have to agree with the no large blade, you only need one and really don't need anything large, but still I'd have to have the larger one..

Wow... Obviously, it's the lighting that makes the blades appear blue, but imagine that for a moment, blued-out hardware!

And I upgraded a stock red alox pioneer as well today.  Its very fiddly to fit the screws on stock scales without having it look awful as I shape the screws to fit the holes.  Lots of trial and error.

Those shiny red scales and polished back springs look so sweet... The tumbled Ti and brass is looking pretty drool worthy also.      ;)

Edit to add- As far as no large blade goes, I always carry a dedicated one hand opener, but don't always have a multitool on me. (I know, heresy!!!    :twak:) I'd rather use the room on the SAK for tools, and the small blade is kind of a backup or fine work blade. My very humble two cents.

I would assume your using a pair of opener layer springs for the opener / phillips layer?  You have to add some spacers for the in-line phillips from a 91mm?

Another bladeless this morning.  Its fun to do these since I get to use a full backscale with no cutout.  The only tricky part on the builds with pliers next to a scale is I have to make a cutout for the rivet to have clearance.

That looks great!  An interesting configuration with an inline phillips but no slotted screwdriver.

Think of it as a companion to a Pioneer or Farmer and it makes more sense.  Nice little pocket tool box.

Say that you got a little overzealous peening your first mod and one of your pins is applying too much pressure on the joint. Any trick to fixing this? Or do I need to drill it out and start over?

The way I've heard it is you start over, but if anyone knows how to fix it short of that, you're in the right place.

Slide a thin piece of metal in between the layers and pry slightly. Also use a punch and tap lightly while the other side is not against a surface. Hard to explain that one.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Its easiest to start over especially if its really tight.

You can use shims in the assembly, then peen tight and pull the shims, I like that method.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Its not too bad. When closing the tool, the joint is just tight enough that the tool doesn't snap into the closed position as effortlessly as it should. I have to give a little assistance near the end.

Syph, the more I think about the cap lifter paired with the inline phillips on the 93mm, the more it makes natural sense.  Way more useful than the can opener in my world.  I guess I need to get some shim material, screws, pivots, and a couple of carbide 1/8" drill bits.  I'm too nervous to hammer alox!  Nothing crazy.  A Pioneer with a can opener/phillips swap.

If its simple, why do I feel so apprehensive?
