Nice to see the progress steps. Great job!

And while I also love the shiny, I do look forward to some patina on it.

Sweet!

How do you figure the wear against the back spring will be? I know the OEM mag holder was plastic, but - with this brass one being so cool - I'd expect alot more usage out of it! :D

Syph's an evil tempter
I just got them back, so I think my wife wouldn't be too pleased if I tried to get more work done ;)

I like the design on those newest titanium scales. The bigger nuts are closer to the ends, equals more torque for those.

Those openings probably really help trim the weight of of the scale as well. What's the different between a full Ti scale and those with the bolt cut outs?

If someone had a knife made with two cutout scales - say, an older design that work right on fasteners - it would be much lighter and have a "skeletized" look. Might be a way to get rid of those scales.

A little birdie told me my wait is almost over for my mod!!!  :ahhh

Now, what to name it?  Hmmm . . .

Oddly enough, it is very similar to batosai117's Ti Toolbox and he posted right about me.

I am sure this has been covered and that I am wasting valuable new Syph customs real estate so I will be brief.

Thinking up my next custom "brass mag glass" and have a question.

Not running a large blade. Can the bottle opener and small blade be a layer?

Or it could be a gateway and we would have another lady around here.

Lovely work, inspired selection of tools!

If I may, I came up with the tool selection based off of Syph's previous work and messing around with a variety of SAK models.  Ultimately this tool is designed to cut, put a hole through, and attach just about anything to anything in the smallest and simplest package.  I debated adding a wood saw, but I have used those so infrequently and the metal saw or knife could accomplish the same thing in a pinch.  There isn't much substitute for ways to cut metal so the metal saw was in.  Then I needed a standard flathead and phillips as those are some of my most frequently used tools.  I don't really use awls very often, but it is such a substantial and cool implement it had to be included.  It can also function as a backup blade if need be.

I'm sure Syph can tell you this was a while in the making with the amount of hemming and hawing I did on tool selection and configuration specifics.

Now, as for what I'll call it, I thought about the Engineer since it is designed to build things, but that is the unofficial name for an existing SAK limited run.  I may still call it that because I can.

I'm with you regarding the metal saw, had Syph stick one on mine.
Another tool I hate to exclude is the can opener.
I think of it as a steel thumbnail; use it for all the unexpected fiddly scraping and prying that I used to damage knife blades with when younger.

Yours strikes a great balance of versatility without redundant bulk.
Enjoy it.

I had a request for that a year ago, and the project is back on.... it wont be on backsprings though as it will need the whole layer space.  But yes.. doable.  :D

Hmmm . . . interesting idea.

Maybe Maker? Inventor? Creator? Constructor? Operator?

So many choices.  What a problem to have.
