Syph, how do you compensate the difference in thickness when you put the cap lifter across from the phillips?  Washer?  Custom liner?

Washer.  It's always important to make sure the total thickness is just slightly bigger then the spring thickness too so the spring moves easily.  All the back spring are slightly thinner athan the ends vs middle for this reason too.

Great to know, and thanks!

One other question - did you have to modify the phillips to keep it from touching the opener on this model, or did you just let the phillips ride a little high to keep it off?

The pivot of the phillips needs to be reshaped and that dictates how high it sits.  Its mostly trial and error to get it to sit just right.

The customer sent me just a pic of a hand drawn sketch for the engraving he wanted.  It was actually pretty easy to turn it into a tool path for engraving.  :D

My latest idea for a scale finish.  Inner textured but leaving the edges plain.  Trying to see what looks good a polished metal or tumbled finish.

Here was todays work.  The skeletonized scales end up weighing almost exactly the same as plastic... but will outlast the human race since not much reacts with Ti.  :D

I don't see pocket lint :D but I do have an idea with the skeletonized scales  Be cool to have a spot on there by the main blade to have a wire stripper hole perhaps

Don't have a wire close by... just used the toothpick as ilustration... notch on combo tool could be used together with the blade to strip wire
